DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS OUT IN THIS HEAT.

especially not in direct sunlight.

Keep THEM safe 💙

Hello everyone!

In hot weather it’s important to be aware of the temperature and how it can affect your dogs. ☀️🥵

Every breed & individual dog suffers differently to others but here’s a basic guide to follow.

During warm weather try:

•Keeping your dogs in as much shade as possible, ideally with a water source near by (woodland walks are best).

•Reduce the amount of running they do as they can overheat quite quickly.

•Take them for shorter walks & avoid long exposure to sunlight (plenty breaks and rest in the shade).

•If you can - take them to walks closer to home or better still, try tire them out with mental stimulation at home.

Always take into consideration your dogs:

•Age
•Breed
•Colour
•Size
•Fitness & Health

If you notice a change in their demeanour, take them straight home & contact a Vet for guidance if you’re concerned about their health. 💙

Please keep your dogs safe in the heat ☀️💙

So we’ve been working with Dolly & Rebecca focussing on heel work & reactivity…

Rebecca has done so amazing work today conditioning dolly around other dogs in the cafe at haigh hall 🤩

As a reward for her excellent behaviour Dolly was treated to a puppuccino and enjoyed it that much that she lost control of her leg! 😂😂

Well done Dolly & Rebecca you smashed it today 👌🏻

As always for any Dog Training or Behavioural issues you need help with, make sure you send us a message. We’re more than happy to help 💙

ARE YOU sat around wondering when your dog’s behaviour will improve? 🫨🫩🥲

Are you:
Wondering how long you have to wait for them to stop pulling on that lead? 🚂🐕‍🦺

Wondering how long it’s going to be until they stop barking at other people and dogs? 💥🙈🫩

Wondering when your dog will start to listen without you being stressed about their next move? 🤪🫨😬

Are you embarrassed about your dogs behaviour and wondering what to do? 🫠🤷🏼‍♂️

You see, I have a saying… ‘Dogs don’t come with instructions’. And it’s true!

THATS WHERE I COME IN.

I’m The Dog Traynor. I’m a professional Dog Behaviourist specialising in Heel Work, Reactivity & Obedience.

I’ve been in the industry for over 4 years, with most of my life spent around dogs, and I’m here to help.

My job isn’t to come and fix your dog. My job is to teach YOU how to fix your dogs behaviour to improve both your lives.

Offering 1-1 sessions for an affordable price, I guarantee you won’t find anyone as devoted, passionate, with a total pride in their service and work as us. Ask any of our customers… there’s no issue too big or too small, no question that can’t be answered.

So I’ll ask you again, are you wondering when your dogs behaviour will improve?

How about now? Get in touch with us and book an assessment to take that first step in the right direction. 💙

❓Let’s talk about the Crate…❓

There is abit of a divide when it comes to the Dog Crate & I can understand why. So let’s talk about it…

The Crate is an excellent facility for your dogs to have their own safe space where they can relax and be secured safely, IF it’s used CORRECTLY.

Dogs are known to be Den Animals meaning they like having a small, comfortable, enclosed, safe space WHEN and ONLY WHEN they are relaxing.

This doesn’t mean that by having them in a crate all day everyday they will enjoy it and be happy, It’s quite the opposite. Especially if they’ve had no formal positive introduction to the Crate - meaning don’t get a Crate and just throw them in there for hours on end and expect them to be happy.

For some dogs they naturally gravitate towards the Crate as they recognise it to be a safe secure place for them to rest.

We recommend that you should always spend the time and effort ‘Crate Conditioning’ before expecting your dogs to spend a considerable amount of time in there. Especially if they’re not naturally inclined to use it themselves. Try and positively encourage the Crate as a good thing.

This also means (in our opinion) that the Crate should never be used as a ‘punishment’. Meaning if they’ve done something wrong don’t use it as a sort of ‘Jail’ for 2 main reasons…

1. They won’t learn anything from this. They won’t associate the punishment of the Crate with the behaviour that you’re trying to correct.

2. The Crate is the dogs safe space to relax. Don’t take this away from them and use it as a punishment. This will only create a negative association and your dog will become unhappy being in there.

On the whole I personally think the Crate is an excellent facility and use them with my own dogs. It gives them their own safe, secure, enclosed space to relax and feel happy. And they can also be secured in there, through ‘Crate Conditioning’, for a period of time where I know they are happy and unable to be destructive or endanger themselves.

There is so much more information we can give on Crates such as:

How long they should be in there.
What type of crates best.
How to ‘Crate Condition’
What size of Crate should you get.
Etc.

For more information and any help with your dogs Training or Behavioural Issues please get in touch with us and book an assessment 💙

New year new you?
How about new year NEW DOG?!!

Here are Doggy Traynors we specialise in behaviour modification cover all behavioural problems you can possibly experience.

Here is an amazing video of one of our star students Liv and her gorgeous HUGE Rhodesian Ridgeback Zeke. 😍

What if I told you Zeke used to pull like an absolute truck and was also reactive with dogs, especially with big dogs? This also made Liv very anxious and and uptight on every walk.

Looking at the video you would never believe it would you? 🤔

THIS is why we love what we do here changing your lives and more importantly YOUR DOGS LIVES for the better.

Liv has seriously put in the work and executed our techniques to perfect, and the results speak for themselves…

PUT IN THE WORK AND YOU WILL SEE THE RESULTS.

For any behavioural issues please do not hesitate to contact us and get your assessment booked in to build your very own perfect, canine-companion, that you’ve always dreamed of having 🤩
