When mobile vets meet … 🇪🇸🐾

While Louise has been travelling through Spain, she spotted another mobile veterinary service out on the road and obviously had to stop for a quick photo.

So here we have it: Home Visit Pet Care Wigan meeting its Spanish cousin - who probably has a much better lunch break. 😄

It’s lovely to see that home visit veterinary care is valued in other places too. Whether it’s Wigan or northern Spain, the idea is the same: helping pets feel more comfortable by bringing care closer to home.

Maybe next time we’ll start an international mobile vet convoy… but for now, Wigan is keeping us busy enough! 💜🤍

Meet Archie!

Archie’s a new client of ours who’s recently been diagnosed with diabetes.

Unfortunately Archie gets super stressed when having to travel to the vets and as stress can play a big role when trying to control diabetes his owner opted to have his progress checks done at home so Archie could be as calm as possible.

Being in familiar environments can really help in situations such as his.

Archie was a super brave boy and completely relaxed and compliant throughout his visit with Alex 🥰!

Well, Louise has found another holiday friend… and this one is otterly adorable. 🦦💜

While Louise is away enjoying a bit of Spanish sunshine, she’s still managing to send us little animal updates from her travels. Today’s star is this gorgeous otter, casually living its best weekend life.

Back at base, the rest of the Home Visit Pet Care team are still here, still on the road, and still looking after your pets as normal.

Rescue missions don’t stop just because Louise is on holiday… 🦎☀️

While Louise is away enjoying the Spanish sunshine, she’s still managed to find herself helping animals, this time rescuing this tiny little lizard from the swimming pool!

Some people relax with a book. Louise apparently patrols the pool for wildlife in need. 💜

Back here in Wigan, the rest of the Home Visit Pet Care team are still working as normal and looking after your pets while Louise is away.

We also currently have appointments available this Friday, so if your pet needs a visit, vaccination, nail clip, check-up or a bit of TLC at home, please get in touch and we’ll get you booked in.

Meet Roo and Honey!

These two beauties were superstars for their heath check and vaccinations today with Alex and Toni.

Roo gets especially nervous when meeting strangers but with a bit of time and patience (and a few treats 😉) she took it all in her stride and was very brave showing her little sister Honey how it’s done.
All in the comfort of her own home!

Louise may be off enjoying the Spanish hills, but she still can’t resist spotting beautiful animals wherever she goes. 🐴☀️

This lovely little foal and its mum were roaming around in the sunshine, and while the Spanish heat might be melting everyone else… this little one has definitely melted our hearts. 💜

Meanwhile, back at base in Wigan, the rest of the Home Visit Pet Care team are still here and operating as normal. We’re open for bookings, home visits are continuing, and your pets are in very safe hands while Louise enjoys a well-earned break.

So if your pet needs us, don’t worry, the team are still on the road and ready to help. 🐾

During these hot few days, keeping pets cool has been so important ☀️🐾

Vet Kathryn’s cat, Gimli, has been loving frozen Lick-e-Lix treats — such a fab idea for helping cats stay cool and hydrated! You can also try:

Frozen pet-safe treats or ice cubes

Cooling mats

Plenty of fresh water around the house

Shaded, well-ventilated areas

Walking dogs early morning or later evening when it’s cooler

Our team get out and about to lots of dog shows during the warmer months, but we think this is the first time any of us have watched a dog show in the Atlantic ocean!
