The Barker Shop Dog Grooming Widnes

The Barker Shop Dog Grooming Widnes ‘The Barker Shop’ offers affordable, quality, one to one Dog Grooming Services to small/medium sized dogs by a fully qualified, experienced groomer.

The Barker Shop Dog Grooming Service offers affordable dog grooming to small/medium sized dogs only. I currently groom from home, around my full time employment hours. At present I am only able to offer this service to small dogs, up to the size of a Cocker Spaniel. This is solely due to the space requirements of larger dogs.

Happy 11th Birthday to US!!

I’m absolutely delighted to be celebrating our 11th birthday, 11 years of HARD WORK, 11 years to be SUPER proud of and 11 years of making some amazing friends and looking after my lovely gang of pups.

HOWEVER. The worst part? 11 years is above average lifespan for a pup. 💔
For 11 whole years I’ve been seeing soooo many of your dogs; looking after them, knowing what they like, what they don’t, what’s normal for them and what’s not. Noticing changes in their character, physical appearance and overall health… I know them and I love them and they’re getting older, I hate that. After 11 years I’ve lost some of the best dogs there is. 😔

If only dogs could live as long as we do…😇🥰💔

So, this year, I want to celebrate OUR birthday by doing something special. 💕

🙏🏻 PLEASE help me celebrate by posting a photo of your pup (here or passed, I want to celebrate them all!!) and tell me how many years they’ve been part of MY GANG 🖤
🥳🫶🐶🐾❤️🥂

Guys,

I’m absolutely swamped over the coming months and really struggling to accommodate appointments.

(April, May & June are currently fully booked unless I get a cancellation)

If you pre-book your appointments PLEASE make a note of them so you don’t forget about them as unless I get a cancellation I have NO WHERE to swap them to.

Just a reminder:

I’m working 4 days a week now so availability is extremely tight.

I allow 10 MINUTES grace if you’re running late, however anything after this will need to be rescheduled as I won’t have time to complete the groom before my next appointment arrives.

If you’re running late and I haven’t heard from you and 10 minutes pass, I’ll assume you’re NOT coming to the appointment for whatever reason, and make other plans to fill the time slot from my cancellation list.

If you miss your appointment and you’re pre-booked, you will either need to wait until your next scheduled appointment or wait for a cancellation, which I obviously can’t guarantee.

If you need to swap appointments due to holidays etc please let me know as soon as possible so I can try to swap you with other customers.

I know it’s really important to us all to keep our dogs groomed as the weather gets warmer, so please make sure you know when your dogs are due in and help me prevent wasted time.

Thanks guys!! 😊

Steph 🖤

⛔️ A dogs ears are extremely sensitive and although it was encouraged that all internal hair be removed from the ear canal, that is no longer best practice.

Why?

🦠 By removing deep rooted hair via plucking, leaves the hair follicles open and exposed to bacteria, thus making them more prone to infection.

Leaving deep rooted hair in the ear canal not only prevents infection taking root this way, but also prevents debris finding its way in to the dogs ear canal preventing exposure to further infectious bacteria.

So what’s best practice?

✅ Clipping around the opening of the ear and the inside of the ear leather and removing LOOSE hair from the ear canal, allows for easier cleaning and prevention of a build up of ear wax and/debris, without causing any discomfort or trauma to the sensitive skin within the ear.

‼️ A dog that presents with any form of infection, swelling or discomfort should never have any form of “ear plucking” until they’ve had the situation resolved via veterinary treatment.

Emmi-Pet 2.0 Treatments

As we now know, taking care of our dog’s oral hygiene is as important as every other aspect of their health. Pet professionals are now better equipped and qualified to carry out treatments to prevent and tackle less severe cases of oral hygiene issues before the situation develops in to case for the vets office.

Unfortunately, the truth is; pet parents are only just realising how Important it is to take care of their dogs teeth, usually after hefty vets bills, teeth extractions or expensive vet recommendations for treatment. PLEASE DONT WAIT when it comes to good oral hygiene, like US, PREVENTION is the KEY for our dogs too.

🤍 Emmi Pet Oral Care does not replace veterinary oral hygiene procedures, such as: surgical descaling or extractions - as invasive procedures require sedation. Unlike a veterinary treatments, Emmi-Pet is not an overnight fix for dogs with a heavy buildup of plaque. It’s a non-invasive treatment which will take multiple sessions. (Sessions are 30 minutes long)

🦷 Emmi Pet is not suitable for dogs with severe oral hygiene issues. Veterinary advice will be required if your dog presents with severe gingivitis and/or periodontal disease. At this point it’s too late to seek our help and veterinary treatment is required.

🤍 Bad oral hygiene doesn’t just cause painful issues in the dogs teeth and gums, if left untreated, bacteria will move under the gum line, in to the bloodstream and to their organs (heart, liver and kidneys) and can cause a multitude of health issues including death.

🦷 Prevention is the key!!!
Emmi Pet treatments can be added to the grooming appointment or separately if multiple treatments are required more frequently.

🤍 How it works
Emmi Pet works via the combination of toothpaste, water and brush head, which creates ultra sonic bubbles, it gently loosens and removes the plaque over several sessions OR keeps plaque from forming.

🦷 Current Price
First treatment: £45
(£30 treatment + £15 for an individual brush head, kept on site for every future treatment)

🤍 Follow up treatments or maintenance treatments are £30 a session if done within a maximum of 3 month period.
Price increases to £45 a session if left longer than 3 months and/or excessive plaque removal is required again.

🦷 For dogs that already have a plaque buildup: Before their first Emmi-Pet treatment.
For best results; for both your dog and your pocket, I recommend starting at home, with the products I can provide (Plaque Off & Oral hygiene gel) - applying every day for approximately a month before their first treatment. This has proven to be effective with many of my customers, by softening the buildup, which in turn allows me to remove it, on average in 1-4 treatments. (Dependant on each individual case)

For individual advice or to add Emmi-Pet to your dog’s grooming schedule, please text 07980878015 or DM. 🤍🦷🫶
