Bruno has lived on my close for a few years now, and I’ve always admired him from afar. I mean, I’ve spoken to his mum and dad, we are neighbours after all! But I don’t ever approach clients from other independent groomers, as I just don’t think that’s a nice way to behave. I knew he was groomed by someone else and I was happy that they were happy - and Bruno was happy! That’s the most important thing!

But today was the day he had his little pamper with me and I loved him! He’s gorgeous, a little finicky with his legs, and a little chatty, but he was as good as good can be!! 🫶🫠♥️

Some of my other doggies could do with having a word with him about how to behave for nails! He was a super star. Unlike some… You know who you are!!!🫠😂😘

We made it!! the smallest Dazzler is back in school tomorrow, the biggest Dazzler is back in on Friday - my alarms have officially been set on my phone (to both wake up, and to remind me to pick them up, because let’s face it, we ALL know I’d forget if I didn’t have a reminder!🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️)

Let me show you Monday’s delights!

Mr Cool Dude himself, Bailey! I love this little fella! He’s my coolest client, chill, relaxed, has a snoozeroo, and is totally content to watch the world go by 🫶😎

Then we have the dynamic duo - they get so many smoochies, especially when they protest! 😂😘 Kipster and Cocopopsicle, they felt like new pups when they left, after a couple of hours singing and dancing at aunty Kate’s!🫶💃 (They protest in jest, they love my smooth moves to magic radio really!)

Poppydog was up next - now she gets involved in the dancing, she has some top moves - mainly, she dances with her pawpaws on my shoulders and wiggles her tail in time to the songs, whilst giving/receiving all the kisses! A visit to mine gets her all excited! (I’m like the naughty aunty who feeds young children blue smarties and redbull before sending them home! But honestly, it’s just excitement - absolutely no blue smarties here!😳🫠🫶)

Last up, Little Miss Pepper! We have a love-hate relationship. I love her, and she loves me - as long as I’m nowhere near her toes/legs. Then she hates me. 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ She is really very precious about her little tootsies. So poor mum has to stay whilst I get them tidied 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️🫠

I’ve also added 2 photos of some nail clippings - the one with my hand in is from 2 feet (so 9 nails), and the one with the clippers is from 1 foot (5 nails). I wanted to show you how little I take off at a time. It’s teeny tiny nibbles, I take time to listen to the dog’s body language, if they flinch or pull away, there’s a chance I might be a bit close to the quick. The quick is the blood supply to the nail - like the pink bit under our nails. I take tiny bits with each snip so I can reassess the nail after each clip. Some dogs have super long quicks which means I can’t get the nail as short as I’d like. If too much nail is clipped off, they bleed a little bit. I’m not in the habit of making nails bleed, but I do my best to remove as much as possible. Nail trimming is essential in dogs day to day comfort, especially if we can’t get them walked daily on hard ground.

Busy day today! Don’t forget, I’ve opened up my diary to new, and old clients, (unless I’ve ever uttered the words “You’re banned, please don’t come back!”) you’re welcome to book an appointment…! 🫠🫶

First up, Mr Toby. “3baths” Toby has deffo been on this earth before. He gives off “old man” vibes until he hits the half-time playtime in his groom, then he goes a bit daft for a few minutes!😂🫶 Today we had a bit of a smooch and a few table Yoga poses…! (Laughing so hard at his stretchy photo! 😂😂😂) Biiiiiiggg Stretch, Tobes!

Next was Mr Tedface…after his Michael Flatly impressions for his nail trim (unsuccessful!🤦🏻‍♀️☠️), he was as good a good can be - he lets me wash and trim his feet, but show him them nail clippers and it’s like he’s competing in some national tap-dancing finals! 🤦🏻‍♀️🕺

Then beautiful Bobby and marvellous Mollie…they are good little puppers and are quite inseparable. Bichon’s aren’t my forté, I mean, I know how and what they should look like, but my ability is…lacking. What I lack in technical ability, I make up for in smooches, singing your doggies radio requests, and interpretive dance too. I 100% can guarantee that Bobby and Mollie were entertained today! 🫶💃

Then we had the beautiful, but destructive asbo…Nala. nala is a work in progress, she is a stunner, she is completely fabulous….when she’s not in my bath/being dried/having her feet touched. She absolutely has a Rottie grumble, but I value limbs and digits so dad stays to “assist.” Sadly, the whirlwind of the groom means I tend to forget a photo, but believe me when I say, she’s bladdy gorge!😍🎉🫶

I’m posting here on behalf of my lovely Groomie friend. She needs to find a loving home for her son’s spaniel, through absolutely no fault of her own. Her son is going in to the Navy, and my Groomie pal is not in a position to keep Juno herself, hence reaching out to find the perfect family for her.

This is Juno, she is a working x show Cocker.

She's bright as a button, very loving. She'll be 2yo in November. She was brought up with 3 cats. Good with kids. Could do with learning a few doggie manners.

She's crate trained and loves her crate. Loves to travel on buses, trains and in car. And loves to meet new people and other dogs, even off lead.

House training is a little hit and miss for pees. She needs someone who can spot early signals around toiletting - she does try, but sometimes the pees are next to the door if those early signals are missed - which I’m sure this will improve when someone can spend a bit of time with her. No poo problems though.

She's raw fed atm, and since arriving home as a pup. She loves her food, would probably transition easily to any food.

Had her puppy jabs, but no booster, and paperwork for those was lost in the move.
Not yet spayed.

She's a lively, active girl, with good recall, but is a blank canvass for any other training.

She's never chewed any furniture or anything she shouldn't. However, she WILL raid any bin, shred any tissues she finds, and eat any food item that isn't well out of reach!

Here to brighten your Wednesday…

Hector Brian was in for his regular groom - he always looks so worried! 😳 He gave me big cheesy teef-smiles on arrival, always takes everything in his stride…HB is the bestest good boy. ♥️🐾

And new girl Jorgie came in for her first groom with me - her old Groomie sent her my way and I’m ever so glad she did! Jorgie was a little anxious at first but since I go at their pace, we chilled out together and she was my pal soon enough! Jorgie had a good old choppity chop to keep her manageable and tidy🎉🐾 Jorgie was a very sweet girl who enjoyed woofering at the passing doggos, letting them all know she was getting a “New Do!”

I hate to do this again. This is now my sole income.

I send reminders out every Sunday, but to have 2 appointments out of 4 cancel/rearrange, really doesn’t pay my bills.

I honestly hate to do this, and so far I’ve never implemented it but going forward:

ALL MISSED APPOINTMENTS OR CANCELLATIONS (with or without requesting rebooking) WITH LESS THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE WILL REQUIRE FULL PAYMENT BEFORE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WILL BE OFFERED.

This has been in my terms and conditions since I opened. The income I have lost due to this is mindblowing and I would never expect anyone to go without a wage if I ever cancelled last minute.

I simply cannot afford to not charge for missed appointments and late notice cancellations.

After a few months in my other employed role, I have now officially left that wonderful job and therefore will be building up my doggy diary again! (Incidentally, anyone wanting to persue a career in Infant Feeding support, will see a job advert with Halton Council, it’s a wonderful team of ladies, and you might just get some baby snuggles long the way!♥️)

The time spent helping mummies and babies has been an absolute privilege, but the almost full-time role isn’t one that’s sustainable for me currently. I’ve met some amazing humans, and some good friends too! But we all know Doggies are my faves, and even brand new babies can’t quite compete (though they’ve come close!) 😉🥰

I will be building back up slowly, so if anyone past or present, would like an appointment, please drop me a message. Christmas will soon be here, and we all know how fast that gets booked up! 😳🎅🏻 (I am well aware that it is 31 degrees and I feel like I’ve been repeatedly slapped by Satans left flipflop!🔥🥵☀️)

Sometimes people ask why grooms are priced differently, even if they take a similar amount of time to complete.

This groom took 2.5 hours, three times the amount of shampoo and conditioner, and 1 hour to clean up after.

But I love these grooms!! They are immensely satisfying!

Ruby was as good as gold from start to finish! 🫶🎉😍🐾

Photos: before (and a little worried about the height of the table, hence my hand!); mid bath with a blueberry facial wash and lots of shampoo/conditioner applied; looking pleased with how much hair she’s left behind (she told me she’s been working hard on growing it all!); and feeling much lighter x 2!🫶🫠🎉🐾

5pm. 29degrees in the car. Driven to Chestnut Lodge lights and sene 3 people walking their dogs. One frenchy, one shar pei and one cocker.

Dogs over heat in this weather so so quickly. They deteriorate fast, and take an age to recover - if they ever do. They don’t die from being left at home while you go to the pub for a nice cold beer. They don’t die if they “miss a walk.”

Leave them at home. Taking them out in the heat risks their lives. No excuses.

A couple of doggies wanted to say “Herro!”

Winston isn’t the biggest fan of groom days, but he’s my pal and has the world record for the fastest ever “sit!” when treats are on offer! 🏆

Then newbie Holly displayed how unhappy she was about me touching her toes, but that’s ok, I took things nice and slowly, and we weee still friends when mum n dad arrived, so all is good in her little world!♥️

I had another couple of new faces too, but since I’m out of practice at sharing here, I forgot the photos!

One was beautiful Bella, she’s a rescued little lady, and was so nervous when she first met me. After a few minutes of sniffs and boops (for both of us!) she relaxed and let me crack on. I gave her a little spa mud bath too because she deserves a little TLC 🥰

And finally, little Lucy! (That’s her teddy toes photo, before I’d finished trimming - but sadly, that’s all I got of her!🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂🧸) Cute as a button - you’ll have to take my word for it! ♥️🫶
