What a fantastic Beltane weekend!

I had the absolute pleasure of running a foraging walk & talk at the Gathering of the Tribes Festival, and honestly… what a beautiful and wonderful experience.

It was such a joy meeting so many of you, wandering together, sharing knowledge, stories, and connecting with the wild plants all around us. Watching people light up as they discover just how much is growing right at their feet never gets old.

Thank you to everyone who joined, asked questions, and brought such great energy to the walk. You made it something really special.

If you fancy coming along on any future foraging adventures, I’ve got plenty more walks, workshops and courses on the way… stay tuned! 🌿✨

Struggling to find a local Walnut or Sweet Chestnut tree? I’ve just discovered an amazing free resource that can help!
The Ancient Tree Inventory has mapped thousands of veteran trees across the UK.

You can filter the map by species to track down exactly what you’re looking for, from Mulberries to Gingko's and everything else. In the process, you’ll spot all sorts of pockets of ancient woodland (this is a huge help for your mushroom hunting too!).

The map isn’t complete, and that's where you can help. Us foragers know all the secret spots that many do not. If you know of a huge old tree near you, you can add it yourself to help protect it for future generations. Many of these trees have incredible genetics, so if you manage to forage some nuts, why not plant a few and carry their legacy forward as well?

An amazing hike deep into the Earth at Luds Church, a wild gorge that feels like stepping into another world. Surrounded by juicy bilberries and sweet raspberries, every step was pure magic. You can almost hear the whispers of those who once sought refuge in this otherworldly place. The Peak District is just so beautiful with an adventure around every corner. It was a foragers dream too! I've never seen so much Rosebay Willowherb in one place before, we ate like kings all weekend :D
