🐾DBS checked
🐾Fully insured 🐾Animal First Aid Trained
🐾Dog Law Certified (with the Dog Training College)🐾 Qualified Dog Trainer 🐾 Puppy Klass Instuctor As an animal lover and pet owner I understand it can be nerve wracking if you require somebody to take care of your beloved pets in your absence (due to being at work or on holiday for example). I have been an "animal person" since I

was a child and have had many pets over the years such as dogs, cats, hamsters, birds, mice, fish & lizards!! I sadly lost my beloved cocker spaniel George at the beginning of December 2021 and we had so many adventures together in 13 years and he helped me discover my love of walking and the outdoors. I feel that animals teach us a lot in life, from love, compassion and kindness and in memory of my boy I would like to use the love I have to take care of animals and help others ensure their animals have the best lives. The other pets I have are Connor the cat, three mice (Alice, Rose & Venus) and an Axolotl named Bob!! I offer dog walking services from 30 minutes to an hour - come rain or shine! I also offer a drop in service, which may be feeding your cats/kittens, or maybe you have a new puppy in your life and require somebody to pop in to check in on them & spend some time with them. I can board small pets for you also. Please feel free to contact me should you require any help with taking care of your pets whether a one off or on a permanent basis.

You don’t need expensive enrichment toys to keep your dog happy 🐶

Today’s activity = an old Amazon box, some brown paper, a couple of toilet roll tubes and a few scattered treats 👇

Sniffing, searching, ripping, problem-solving… all natural behaviours your dog loves to do.

Ozzy’s been having a great time with this….and the best bit? It helps tire them out mentally, so you often end up with a calmer, more settled dog afterwards 🙌

Perfect for rainy days, hot days, busy days, or when walks are a bit shorter.

Enrichment doesn’t have to cost a thing, sometimes the “rubbish” is the best toy 😄

⚠️ Always supervise and remove any bits they shouldn’t eat (especially once it gets soggy or starts breaking down) ⚠️

Give it a try and let me know how your dog gets on!

🐾A little reminder… your dog doesn’t always need a long, fast walk to be happy 🐾

There’s this idea that dogs need big walks, twice a day, every day - but in reality, that’s not always what fulfils them most.

A slower walk, where they can properly sniff, explore and take everything in at their own pace can be far more beneficial than marching them round the block.

Sniffing = mental stimulation
Exploring = mental stimulation
Even just sitting together and watching the world go by… that all counts.

Some days, my two don’t go on long walks at all.

We’ll do a mix of:
• Play and a bit of training in the garden
• A shorter, slower “snifari” walk
• Lick mats & snuffle mats at home

And they’re left calm, settled and content - not just physically tired, but mentally fulfilled too (and they are both cocker spaniels 😂).

Licking is naturally calming for dogs.
It’s self-soothing, helps them switch off, and brings their arousal levels down - something a lot of dogs actually need more of.

Because the truth is, a long walk might tire their body…but it doesn’t always settle their mind.

It’s about balance - mental stimulation, physical movement and calmness.

That’s what creates a happy dog… and a much easier life for us too 😊

I spend a lot of time helping owners understand this with their own dogs, especially those who feel like they’re doing everything and still ending up with a wired, over-stimulated dog.

Sometimes it’s not about doing more… it’s about doing things differently.

Especially on days like today, when the weather’s lovely, it’s nice to slow things down a bit and enjoy it together ☀️

Your dog doesn’t need miles.
They just need time, understanding… and you ❤️

🐾 Sleep isn’t a luxury for dogs… it’s essential 💤

With it being Sleep Awareness Month, it felt like the perfect time to talk about something that’s often overlooked - how important proper rest is for our dogs.

Just like us, dogs need good quality sleep to function properly. In fact, most dogs need 12–16 hours a day (and puppies even more!).

But here’s something a lot of people don’t realise…
🐶 Dogs don’t sleep like we do.

Humans tend to have long, deep sleep cycles but dogs sleep in shorter bursts throughout the day and night. That means they need more overall sleep to feel properly rested.

If they don’t get enough, you might start to notice:
🐶 Increased reactivity
🐶 Poor focus during training
🐶 Overexcitement or “naughty” behaviour
🐶 Struggling to settle

Sometimes what looks like “bad behaviour” is actually just an overtired dog who can’t regulate themselves properly.

Sleep = a balanced dog.

Here are a few simple ways to support better sleep:
💤 Make sure they have a quiet, safe place to rest
💤 Avoid constant stimulation throughout the day
💤 Don’t feel guilty for letting them nap - it’s what they should be doing!
💤 Keep a consistent routine where possible

Especially for busy households (or multi-dog homes!) it’s easy for dogs to stay “on” all day… but learning to switch off is just as important as exercise and training.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your dog… is absolutely nothing at all 💛

🐾 Want your dog to actually LISTEN to you?

Start with play.

It’s not just about tiring them out - it’s how you build focus, trust, and that “I want to be with you” mindset.

🎾 Recall
🎾 Drop
🎾 Engagement

All built through simple, fun games.

The more your dog enjoys being with you… the more they’ll choose you over distractions.

✨ Here’s a video of my 8 month old working cocker spaniel Ozzy showing how it’s done…✨

🐾 Little update 🐾

A lot of you already know I don’t just walk dogs… I work with them every day on behaviour, structure and routine.

So I’ve decided to officially open this up and start offering some 1:1 training support alongside my existing services 😊. I have previously qualified with the Dog Training College as an instructor as well as additional courses in separation anxiety, puppy Klass instructor and Dog Law.

This is perfect if you’re struggling with things like:
• Lead pulling
• Recall
• Jumping up / overexcitement
• General behaviour at home or out on walks

Nothing over the top or “quick fixes” - just real-life, practical training that actually fits into your day-to-day life.

I’ll help you understand why your dog is behaving the way they are, and show you what to do moving forward (because consistency at home is what really makes the difference 🐾)

I offer a free 10–15 minute discovery call first, then we can go from there if it feels like the right fit.

If you’ve been thinking “I wish I could get on top of this” - feel free to message me 😊
