โ€ผ๏ธFOSTER HOME NEEDEDโ€ผ๏ธ

Meet Frankie ๐Ÿถ

Frankie has been at our Suffolk centre for over 100 days and is in desperate need of some respite from kennels so we are looking for a foster home to provide Frankie some of the home comforts every dog deserves, until we're able to find him a new forever home.

Frankie is fun, energetic and playful and is looking for a foster home that can give him appropriate outlets to relieve this energy. Frankie can be boisterous at times, but he is very clever and loves to engage in training sessions. He already has a few tricks up his sleeve!

Despite his lively character, Frankie can be unsure in some situations. We are looking for a foster carer that can read Frankie, advocate for him and keep him comfortable, following advice from our team. Being a bigger boy, we are also looking for a foster carer that is confident when handling stronger dogs on lead.

A foster carer that doesnโ€™t need to leave Frankie very often and for long period of time would be needed, although time alone can be built up during his time in foster.

In return for your time fostering, you'll be part of an incredible community of animal lovers, all here for pets. We provide comprehensive training, and all your expenses are covered so you can experience the love of a pet without the cost. We'll support you every step of the way with your own dedicated Foster Coordinator.

And of course, you'd be making a huge difference for Frankie ๐Ÿ’™

Nine terrified kittens and their mum were left along with a heart-breaking note begging for Blue Cross to help. ๐Ÿ’”

Our veterinary team provided essential care, and our rehoming team created a safe space after their ordeal, leading to their quick adoption.

Sadly stories like this occur all too frequently. We are witnessing an unprecedented rise in the number of homeless pets arriving in our care, largely due to owners being unable to afford their care.

This is why we rely on donations to ensure we can help pets like Dahlia and her babies.

By donating, you will help us be there for as many homeless pets as we can.

Stray dog, Ronnie was rescued by our Newport rehoming centre, before spending time at our Southampton centre, where he loved all the care and attention from our staff, but what he wanted most was a family of his own. After 146 days in our care, his dreams finally came true! ๐Ÿก๐Ÿฅฐ

This adorable staffy, Creed, has been with us for 63 days and is beginning to lose hope of finding his forever family. ๐Ÿ’”

Creed is a lovable 6-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a big heart! This energetic boy is always ready for fun and loves a good game of tug. He'd thrive in an active home with plenty of mental and physical stimulation. With consistency and ongoing training, he will continue to flourish.

Share this post with your staffy-lover friends and help us find the forever home he deserves! ๐Ÿก

Facing the challenge of caring for an unplanned litter of puppies, their owner was also confronted with the threat of homelessness, with the possibility of living in their car with all seven dogs. ๐Ÿ’”

In this difficult situation, the owner made the brave decision to seek our help.

The team implemented rotas, feeding schedules, and a socialisation plan to ensure the litter received the best possible start. Which also allowed their mother to have much-needed rest away from her pups.

As the puppies settled in, their personalities began to shine through, and it wasnโ€™t long before they were all adopted just in time for ! ๐ŸŽ‰

With big paws, a big heart, and even bigger love to give, two-year-old Tyson is ready to find his forever home! ๐Ÿ’™

This gentle giant might be a little shy initially, but once he warms up, he's the most loyal, sweet, affectionate boy.

His previous owners can no longer care for him so Tyson is looking for an experienced home that understands guardian breeds and can provide the mental and physical stimulation he thrives on. With plenty of love, patience, and playtime, he'll be the perfect addition to an active family.

Could you be the one to give Tyson the big love he deserves and make his dreams come true? ๐Ÿก

Cloud was discovered by a member of the public, abandoned along with four other cats in a single carrier bag in an alleyway. ๐Ÿ’”

Fortunately, they were taken to one of our animal hospitals, where our expert team provided the necessary care.

Unfortunately, Cloud was not in the best health. She was suffering from calicivirus, a feline illness that can cause mild to severe respiratory infections and oral disease, which led to her having a painful, ulcerated tongue.

After receiving plenty of pain relief and antibiotics, Cloud made a full recovery, while the other cats also received the care and attention they needed.

We're happy to share that all of the cats, including Cloud, have successfully found forever homes after their ordeal. ๐Ÿ’™

Percy and his tiny enclosure were put up for sale online for ยฃ20. ๐Ÿ’”

Luckily, he was spotted by someone who had previously adopted a hamster from Blue Cross. This kind individual decided to rescue Percy from his cramped living conditions and bring him into our care.

After receiving veterinary treatment, our rehoming teams worked hard to find Percy the perfect new home. And he found just that!

Percy is now living in a spacious enclosure that features lots of hiding places and foraging opportunities. His new owner has even spoiled him with a playpen, offering a change of scenery in the evenings when hamsters are most active

If youโ€™re thinking about bringing a hamster into your home, we highly recommend following our advice to ensure you find the perfect-sized enclosure! ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/47Bb9wV

At just six months old, Bear was trying to survive on the streets while in unbearable pain. ๐Ÿ’”

X-rays revealed a badly fractured right hind leg โ€“ so badly damaged that the only option was to amputate.

But it wasn't over for Bear, while resting, our Victoria team noticed that Bearโ€™s other leg was also unstable. Unfortunately, further X-rays revealed that he had a dislocated kneecap.

On the day the stitches from his amputation were removed, poor Bear had to endure another operation on his other leg.

With the care and love from our veterinary, rehoming, and foster teams, Bear has gone from strength to strength, is no longer in pain, and is now in a loving new home. ๐Ÿ’™

2024 saw a 9% increase in cat admissions, and we envision a greater surge in homeless pets, like Bear, needing our care this year.

Please help us continue to provide life-saving vet care for homeless pets by donating to our cause.

Found alone in a garage at just three weeks old, Pirate was injured and separated from her mother. ๐Ÿ’”

She was suffering from a ruptured eye and desperately needed love and medical attention.

Our expert team worked tirelessly, but unfortunately, brave Pirateโ€™s eye could not be saved.

A crucial operation was required, which posed a risk due to her small size. However, Pirate was a fighter, and the operation was successful!

After 40 days of rest and recovery, her dreams finally came true, and she found a loving new home.

While struggling to survive on the streets as strays, all Coco and KitKat had was each other. ๐Ÿ’™

Due to KitKat's shyness, Coco confidently looked out for her friend while they were on the street, a practice that continued when they came into our care.

Even while suffering from skin conditions, they cuddled together for comfort while undergoing treatment.

Their bond was unbreakable, and after 122 days in our care, our favourite pair found a home together.๐Ÿ’•

The impact of our care. Trigger warning! ๐Ÿ˜ข

Abandoned in a park, terrified, and with their ribs and spines protruding, it was clear these three pups had suffered neglect. ๐Ÿ’”

Thought to be around six months old, Ross, Joey, and Chandler were undernourished and covered in filth.

Shut down and scared of everything, including the wind, we could only imagine what their past must have been like.

Our team in Bromsgrove worked tirelessly to help rebuild their physical strength and to start their training and socialization from scratch.

As their confidence grew each day, the pups eventually regained their health and found loving new homes.

๐Ÿ“ขGreyhound racing is officially ending in Wales!

Thanks to the incredible support from animal lovers like you, today marks a historic victory โ€”the Welsh Government has announced it will end greyhound racing in Wales. This decision will save countless dogs from harm and is a major step forward for animal welfare. ๐Ÿพ

We now urge the rest of the UK to follow the Welsh Governmentโ€™s lead and end greyhound racing nationwide for good.

Find out how you can help us across the UK by visiting ๐Ÿ‘‰ bluecross.org.uk/campaign/EndGreyhoundRacing

Meet our unluckiest resident, Jeremy. ๐Ÿ’” Despite Jeremy's heartbreaking past, Jeremy still hasn't found their perfect match.

We believe that his need for personal space and not being comfortable with being touched might be putting people off.

This , please help Jeremy find the love they deserve! ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/42iwa0q

Alone and completely matted, Jeremy barely had any human interaction for nine years. Living in a breeding facility in a concrete kennel with no windows, he was terrified. ๐Ÿ’”

Our foster carer, behaviour, and rehoming teams have worked incredibly hard with Jeremy to help him rebuild his trust in people.

Due to his lack of experience with interaction, Jeremy does not like being touched. He is seeking a patient owner who understands his needs and respects his space and boundaries to help him progress.

Could you provide Jeremy with the loving home he deserves? https://bit.ly/42iwa0q

We're celebrating by highlighting our new favourite duo, Pepper and Worcester, who have finally found a home together after losing their beloved owners to illness. ๐Ÿ’•

Terminal illness meant their elderly owners could no longer look after the veteran duo, and so turned to Blue Cross for help.

Keeping Pepper and Worcester together was essential due to their strong bond, and it wasn't long before they found a loving home on a beautiful farm. ๐Ÿ’™

Everyone at Blue Cross is incredibly grateful for the donation left by Pepper and Worcester's owners, which will help us continue supporting pets and people like them.

Spotted crying and starving on an estate, his finder made the right decision bringing Benedict into our care. ๐Ÿ’”

He quickly earned a reputation as a chatterbox with had an unusual head tilt, but upon investigation, we realised that he was trying to tell us that he had an inner ear infection.

Our team provided the necessary treatment, but the infection left him with a permanent head tilt.

After monitoring his mobility and continuing his treatment, he was finally ready for what he had always dreamed of, a home.

And he found just that! ๐Ÿ’™

Tiny was found abandoned in the waiting room, in an extremely bad state. ๐Ÿ’” With a ruptured eye that was out of its socket, we can only imagine the pain this poor girl endured.

Our team at our Victoria animal hospital worked tirelessly to help her. Unfortunately, her injury had been left untreated for too long, and her eye had to be removed.

Fortunately, Tiny recovered remarkably well. In gratitude, she showered our staff with love and cuddles.

This sweet girl went through so much, but the outcome was worthwhile as she is is now in the loving arms of her new owner.๐Ÿ’™
