Early morning and late evening walks are advised to avoid heat exhaustion, along with lots of shade and plenty of water being provided for your furry friends (paddling pools are also great for enrichment!) 🌊🧑

Is your dog 'naughty'? do they 'ignore you'? Do you feel like you're going round in circles or getting frustrated with thier behaviour?
Stop, pause and take a breath....

The truth is, dogs behave and act accordingly to thier environment. For example, if your dog is destructive in the home, its more than likely caused by stress and/or frustration rather than them just 'being naughty'. There is always a reason behind every behaviour a dog expresses. This is where postive reinforcement comes in to play! In short, postive reward based training enables your dog to realise that postive behaviour = a reward. This can be a tasty treat or a favourite toy. It also enables your relationship with your dog to become much stronger and an incredible trust bond is built, but most importantly you will both have a fun and positive experience! Once you start to understand the concept of this training method, you will find some things just seem to all fall into place. There are so many great videos and information about positive reward based training out there!

Enrichment is also extremely important. Puzzle feeders, lick mats, treat balls, kongs, scent detection, toy finding, scatter feeding, walking in new places, playmate dates - these are all great things and ways to mentally and physically stimulate your pups!

Please contact me for more information or if you would like to book a consultation or training session

I am very pleased to announce that I am now 'Dog First Aid Trained', completed with Dog First Aid Franchise Ltd. Highly recommended if you want to learn more on how you can help your companion animals in challenging situations or if you are keen on working in the animal care industry with dogs.

I hope that I won't ever have to use it, but incase an emergency does occur I now know how to confidently handle the situation 🐢🐾πŸ₯

Introducing my first client - the beautiful Lola! Isn't she gorgeous 😍

Lola and her family are receiving puppy training sessions along with basic training advice, enrichment ideas and a tailor made training plan to help shape her into even more of a little superstar than she already is!

Lola is such a bright girl and a very fast learner, but just like most puppies - gets a little frustrated at times with things she doesn't fully understand yet. Getting the whole family involved when training dogs and puppies is a great way to get everyone on the same page, as consistency is highly important in training! Everyone then knows what is required from them, so the animal doesn't get confused i.e using lots of different commands for one behaviour.

Watch this space for Lola's progress!

Hello!
Nice to meet you all. Thank-you for taking the time to visit my page for my new business!

An introduction about me...

My name is Cody and for those of you who don't know me, I'm an animal obsessed, hard working individual who wants to help out as many animals and their owners as much as I can! I'm based in Dorset and cover Weymouth and Dorchester areas.

Having worked in the animal care industry for over 10 years now, I've had the privilege of working with a wide variety of animals such as rescue dogs, cats, Sea Lions, seals, otters, penguins, primates and many more! I have a BSc (hons) Applied Animal Behaviour and Training degree, which I achieved at the University of Hull as well as gaining two college qualifications in animal care at Berkshire's College of Agriculture.

I have previously worked at a rescue kennels as a senior member of staff where we rehabilitated and trained rescue dogs to be able to go into their forever homes. This is where my passion for training and rehabilitating began! Here, I dealt with dogs who had a huge variety of challenging behaviours. Unless I feel there may be someone better suited for the situation who may have more experience, I will always try to help. I want to help you so I will only take on clients I know I can 100% commit to and help make a difference.

More recently, I have been working as an aquarist and animal trainer in zoos and aquariums, as well as working in a seal rescue hospital so I have experience with exotic animals too!

I also have pets of my own - one adorable dog - Ava (who was my inspiration to finally start this business up) and one sassy cat - Ula. Both my absolute world. I know how important it is to be able to trust someone with your companion animals, they are family.

My passion for animal training is second to none. I found myself always offering advice to friends and family for thier pets behaviour and training so I thought 'why not start my own business?!

Whether your pet(s) need basic training, puppy training, recall, lead walking, dealing with food possession etc, there are lots of fun and positive ways for you and your furry companion to impliment to start improving your lifestyle.

I must stress that I only use (and will only ever use) positive reward based training. This means absolutley no aversives or physical punishment will ever be involved in my training plans. We want your pets to learn and be taught how to behave, not punished for not understanding what they are doing is undesirable.

So what can I offer you?

To begin with, I will be offering one to one consultations for animal training and then training sessions for clients who wish to take on my services.

The process;
- The first step is when you contact me via the email provided or on messenger avaliable on this page to say you would like to enquire.

- I will then send you a form to fill out just to get a little information to see what you would be wanting from me as a trainer. This form won't take more than 10 minutes to complete. You then email this to me and I will be in once I have recieved and read through your form.

- An appointment will then be made for a consultation (covid safe). This is where we will discuss what issues/behaviours you would like to address and discuss from what you have written in your information form. Here, I will fill out an indepth consultation form in more detail for my records and discuss what behaviours you would like to train, change, stop etc.

- This is a chance for you to get to know me and see if you are happy and also a chance for me to gather important information so I can write up an individual, tailor made training plan for you and your pet. We will then book in training sessions to work on the behaviours discussed.

I hope to hear from you soon. Please like and share my page with anyone and everyone you think may benefit from this service!
