With the British weather leading to poor crop yields this year, you might be worrying about sourcing forage for Winter, so now is a good change to look at ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ŸŒฑ

A horse needs to consume sufficient forage to maintain health and body weight, but if not enough hay or grass is available it may be time to investigate high fibre, low starch feeds that can be used in addition to their current diet.

We have a range of forage replacers in store, including grass pellets, high fibre cubes, chops and chaffs, and soakable mashes which can be fed in a bucket to ensure your horse consumes sufficient fibre.

You can practically see the grass growing out there now weโ€™ve finally had some rain, but this means owners of Laminitis-prone horses and ponies need to be on full alert ๐Ÿšจ!

Be sure to take precautions such as limiting grass intake through grazing muzzles, strip grazing or reducing field time, soaking hay, maintaining exercise, reviewing hard feed ration and monitoring condition to ensure you stay on top of Laminitis this Autumn!
