Nothing like a bit of stress and drama to end a very soggy week! π«£π€£
At the end of today's afternoon walk, the last one of the week, I noticed that little Doras face was a little swollen π€
Although still acting normal and her usual self it became apparent quite quickly that she was having an allergic reaction. They can deteriorate quite quickly in some cases and especially risky with brachycephalic dogs like pugs and when the wheezing starts it's an emergency π«£ I always carry a antihistamine but this was more severe and needed a vet and it's never worth the risk not to get professional advice.
In 7 years I've never had an emergency but this was definitely no time to hang about so it was straight to the vets, with extra stress added due to the dual carriageway being at a standstill!
But thankfully Dora is all back home safe and sound and on the mend. Sometimes it's so hard in these cases to pinpoint a cause, it could be a bite, a toxic plant or even a bit of food eaten quickly that's been dropped by a fox or bird etc!
I think I aged 10 years in a day from the worry, especially as I've been so lucky to walk Dora since she was a few months old and she really is like my own β€οΈπ€£π«£
So less drama please next time Dora π€£ I've never been more ready for a weekend in my life π€£ ###
