Please help this wonderful local charity if you are able to 🐾
⚠️Donations urgently needed⚠️
For the past few days we’ve been out trapping a large stray cat colony that desperately needs help. What we thought was just one pregnant cat & a couple others has turned out to be much more than that.
So far we’ve safely trapped 10 cats but there are at least double that still left behind there if not more. 5 of the ones we've got safe are pregnant females who have been left to have litter after litter in awful conditions. There are still many more left there needing rescuing though.
These cats are surviving, not living. They are all terrified. They’re rummaging through bins for scraps, hiding in brambles, sleeping in dirt & trying to stay safe in conditions no animal should have to endure. Every trap we set is met with fear because human contact hasn’t meant kindness for them.
We have witnessed some very upsetting things the last few days. Cats ripping bin bags open to eat whatever they can find, dragging food like bones around, limping around due to being injured, running away from people as they’re terrified & trying to keep warm. They are all sleeping in filthy bins, brambles, old mattresses & under cars.
We are working as quickly as we can to trap them & provide urgent veterinary care but our space is extremely limited. We aren't cut out for large colonies like this.
All the females are pregnant & most of the males are injured. One has sadly lost his eye however this will need to be surgically removed properly in time which is estimated to cost thousands.
Every single one of them deserves warmth, proper food & a chance at a better life.
But we can’t do this alone.
Trapping equipment, emergency vet bills, spay/neuter surgeries, medication, food, petrol (as it is an hour & a half round trip both ways) & aftercare adds up quickly.
Each cat is estimated to cost us £250 if not more. They all need flea, worming, bloods, neutering, chipping, vaccinating & any other treatment if they're poorly. With the 10 we've already got this is over £2.5k we are going to have to spend so far which we don't have. Last month our vet bill cost us £6.5k, with these cats now we are going to have a £10k vet bill within two months which is a scary amount for a small rescue like us.😫
We desperately need help.
If you can donate, no matter how small, it will go directly toward saving these cats & preventing even more kittens from being born into suffering.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this post. The more people who see it, the more lives we can change.
They didn’t choose this life. But we can choose to help them.
Thank you for helping us give these frightened souls the future they deserve.

*Please note these cats will not be up for adoption for ages. They all need socialising, veterinary treatment & time to come round.*
