Creative Grooming Seminar with Sathit “Starwood” Harirak – A Colourful Experience in Asian Fusion Style
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a seminar led by none other than Sathit “Starwood” Harirak, the internationally acclaimed grooming artist from Thailand. Known for his imaginative flair, precision sc******ng, and mastery of Asian Fusion and Creative Grooming, Sathit is a true pioneer who has inspired groomers across the globe with his distinctive style and bold creativity.
The seminar was a vibrant showcase of Asian Style grooming—a technique that blends meticulous structure with playful, almost cartoon-like aesthetics. Think big round faces, flared legs, soft lines, and teddy bear finishes that transform pets into living plush toys. Sathit demonstrated how to sculpt fur into clean, balanced shapes that highlight the natural beauty and charm of each dog.
But the highlight of the day was the Creative Grooming segment—a celebration of colour, imagination, and character. Sathit took grooming far beyond the functional and into the artistic, showing how safe colouring techniques, pattern work, and whimsical touches can turn pets into walking works of art. Whether it was a unicorn-inspired trim or a rainbow-tinted transformation, each style was approached with care, technique, and a true sense of fun.
What I appreciated most was Sathit’s generosity in sharing his knowledge—he didn’t just perform, he taught. Every scissor flick, every styling decision was explained with clarity and passion. His eye for detail, calm teaching style, and sense of humour made it a truly inspiring learning experience.
I came away from the seminar not just with new techniques, but with fresh motivation to push creative boundaries in my own grooming work. It reminded me that grooming is not only a skilled trade, but also an art form, and that joy and imagination can be just as important as precision and structure.
A huge thank you to Sathit Starwood for an unforgettable experience—and to the organisers for making it happen. Watch this space—there may be some bold, new styles walking out of The Dogmother soon!
