One vital food supplement that the majority of our animals must have available to them, summer and winter alike, are salt mineral blocks. These provide essential minerals to keep them in good health. If they are not available, animals tend to lick soil to get these naturally. In the case of horses, this can be very harmful, as licking the ground can cause them to ingest sand which, in turn, can easily cause them to suffer colic due to a build up of sand in their stomachs. So, as you can imagine, with SO many animals in our care, we purchase vast amounts of these blocks (£10 each) by the pallet load!

With these mineral blocks in mind, we have been gradually changing our old-style, often primitive, way of hanging the blocks on string and ropes to a more secure, block saving purpose-built holder. So, we are just in the process of ordering 500 more, and, yes, you read this correctly, we really do need all these to supply the many stables, shelters, barns and paddocks where our animals live. Because we ordered so many, we have acquired them at the special price of £5 each instead of the usual £10 each.

We tentatively have a rare space for the right person. One assisted livery, Monday to Friday mornings, bring in, or turn out. Stable, grazing day time only in winter. Including hay. £217 per month or £50 per week. Warning we are located down a bumpy farm track, we have no piped water or electric. We run on solar and water containers. Plus side, it's a great location with great hacking, outdoor school, lockable tack room and a lovely mixed herd. We do not offer single turn out for a herd animal. Plenty of photos and videos all over our social medias if you want to know what it's like. This time of year, its cold and miserable, but it's a spectacular location in the warmer months. I run a tight ship so don't ask if you don't like mucking in, getting up in the mornings or think horses only need once a day checking. In return I will love your horse like my own and mainly talk alot 😊

"A horse is a mirror of his rider". People now pay more attention to new gadgets & tricks (that should help them to appear to be riders) rather than to become better riders... But the principle of "if you want more, first you have to become more" works in horsemanship.
