Two new pooches joined our pack,
Best of friends from the very first track.
Tails were wagging, spirits bright,
Ready for adventures from morning till night.

They splashed through rivers and raced by streams,
Living out their muddy-pawed dreams.
They played wild chase and rolled in the grass,
Getting so dirty they made cows laugh as they passed.

Then homeward came the happy pair,
Tongues hanging out without a care.
When called, they trotted straight back,
Thinking, "Treats next, then I'll hit the sack!"

Back again for another stay,
While Mum and Dad were away.
She marched right in without a care,
And claimed her favourite comfy chair.

Her own bed sat there all alone,
Ignored as if it weren't her own.
She loved a cuddle, loved a fuss,
And often chose to sit on us!

She loved her walks with all her friends,
And hoped the sunshine never ends.
But when the rain began to pour,
She wasn't keen on walks anymore.

Raincoats, puddles, wet dog feet,
To her, they simply weren't a treat.
We can't wait till she comes once more,
Scratching happily at our door!

For the past few weeks we've been on the go,
With dogs arriving in a steady flow.
Big ones, small ones, fluffy and lean,
The busiest bunch we've ever seen

The weather was hot, so we had to be wise,
Early morning walks and late sunset skies.
No midday marching in the blazing heat,
Just cooler adventures on four furry feet.

Some splashed in the river with tails held high,
Some paddled in pools with a gleam in their eye.
The mad ones sunbathed like lizards all day,
While sensible pups found the shade and would stay.

Some came for a day, some a week or more,
Each one a pleasure to welcome through the door.
They all behaved brilliantly, every girl and boy,
And they'll all be invited back with great joy.

This puppy’s now a daycare pro,
A regular face we all know.
She started out attached by lead,
A cautious pup with careful speed.

The first time that I let her loose,
I feared she'd vanish like a goose!
I held my breath and scanned the sky
But back she came, no need to cry.

Now off she sprints with all her mates,
Through fields and mud she celebrates.
She runs and runs with endless glee,
Till every friend begs, “Let us be!”

When home time comes, she’s still not done,
She thinks the day has just begun.
While sleepy pals all flop and doze,
She tears around like a zooming pro.

Returning VIP guests with wagging tails and shouts.
First, a dashing chocolate lab with puddles on his mind,
He’d splash, sniff treats, and play all day, mischief intertwined.

By night he’d claim the sofa like a king upon his throne,
Then snore so loud you’d think he had a foghorn of his own.
The walls would hum, the windows shake, the other dogs would stare,
Was it thunder? Was it drums? No..just him in there!

The second, small and cute, a master of disguise,
Could nap in any nook he found, quite crafty and quite wise.
From sofa to crate to a lap most grand,
If there was space to snooze, he’d claim it as planned.

One thing in common, food! A crinkle, a creak, a cupboard door,
They’d teleport beside you, “Got snacks? Perhaps some more?”
No biscuit could be hidden, no crumb left behind,
Two furry little detectives with one thing on their mind.

A whirlwind week at doggy daycare, what a fabulous furry sight,
With wagging tails and muddy trails from morning until night!
Old pals barked, new chums zoomed, in one big playful crew,
Chasing, sniffing, tumbling round, there’s always SO much to do!

They marched the countryside like hounds on grand adventures bold,
Sniffing every bush and blade like treasures to behold.
With noses twitching, paws a-pouncing, each scent a mystic clue,
While games of chase turned every field to Dog Olympics too!

Then hip hip hooray! The sun arrived; it finally showed its face!
And every pup claimed patio spots with perfectly timed grace.
They flopped like furry pancakes in the golden April glow,
While humans smiled and wished perhaps, they too could nap just so.

Now treats are gone, the tail wags slowed, as this fine week must bend,
But don’t you fret, next week returns with paws around the bend!
With fun in bounds and joyful rounds, more furry friends adorning,
At the happiest hound hangout: Barley Cross Dog Boarding🐶🐶

Two tiny brother pooches arrived with a cheer,
Back for another stay, because they had fun last year.
Though small in their stature (quite low to the ground),
Their mischief and zoomies were big, pound for pound.

They met many dog friends, some towering high,
“Are those dogs or giraffes?” one whispered nearby.
Yet brave as could be, with tails wagging fast,
They followed the big pups, determined to last.

On walks they would trot like they led the parade,
Though often distracted by snacks to be made.
For food was their passion, their number one goal,
If biscuits were treasure, they’d both guard the bowl.

Then sleep would soon call after all of that play,
But cuddles? Their highlight, the best part of day.
Curled up in a bundle, no worries or woes,
Two tiny warm brothers, just snores and soft snoozes.

Two chilled-out dogs from different clans,
Arrived with sleepy, waggy plans,
From separate homes yet fast became
United in one drowsy game.

They shared a skill both proud and deep
An unmatched love of sudden sleep,
On sofa soft or garden green,
They’d snooze in places quite unseen.

A race began (though none could tell),
Who’d drift off first and do it well,
A yawn, a flop, a gentle snore
And both were dreaming, keeping score.

We loved their visits, calm and sweet,
With padded paws and hearts replete,
And hope before too very long,
They’ll nap again where they belong.

This giant fluffball bounced in one day,
A whirlwind of chaos, determined to play.
Zoomies activated from morning till night,
A blur of pure joy and unstoppable might.

Every dog met was as a new best friend on sight,
Cue chase, then more chase, then chase in pure delight!.
No breaks, no pauses, no “maybe, not now,”
Just run and keep running somehow.

Humans weren’t spared, oh no, not at all,
Each one greeted like a long-lost pal.
With kisses, odd noises, and tail-wagging flair,
Translation: “love me! I'm friendly & have some hair"

At night, though, a miracle, peace would descend,
He’d snooze like an angel, till morning again.
Recharged to full chaos, batteries at ten,
Ready to zoom through the house once again.

Now he’s gone home, and it’s oddly serene,
The quietest quiet we’ve ever seen.
The house feels enormous, a little too bare
But don’t worry, he’s not left us, we are finding his fluff everywhere
