Look what arrived from Peru! 🇵🇪🦙

Our lovely Peruvian supplier, Moises, included a surprise sample in our latest delivery, and we may have fallen slightly in love with it. I don't know why, but I keep referring to this one as Rhubarb! 🦙

This gorgeous llama stands around 25cm tall, is handmade in Peru from wonderfully soft natural fibre, and is freestanding rather than being a conventional stuffed toy. The photos really don't convey quite how ridiculously soft and tactile it is.

We're now wondering whether we should ask Moises to make some especially for Glamping with Llamas.

Before we get carried away and order a small Peruvian llama army, we'd love to know what you think. Would you be tempted by one at around £34.95?

𝗙𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗬 𝗧𝗥𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣?

We’re exploring a brand-new beginner-friendly Belly Dance workshop at Glamping with Llamas, led by Elizabeth from Elysian Belly Dance.

No experience needed, no need to know the moves, and definitely no expectation that anyone arrives looking like they know what they’re doing. The session would be relaxed, welcoming and designed especially for complete beginners, with a gentle warm-up, basic moves, a simple combination, follow-along dancing and the chance to try props and coin belts too.

We’re thinking around an hour on the farm, with refreshments afterwards and plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. Props/ring belts provided.

Before we set a date, we’d love to know whether there’s enough interest to make it happen.

Our Nayeli, and her bigger sister Nayeli Too, take their name from a Mexican name commonly associated with Zapotec heritage and popularly understood to mean “I love you”.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿?

In June 2024, I wrote about the growing problem of online travel scams and how travellers and accommodation providers could protect themselves.

Just over two years later, we have experienced a very different side of the problem ourselves.

A guest we had previously barred from returning was able to book with us again using different details.

What followed included unpaid services, unusable contact information, questionable booking details and property disappearing from the accommodation.

We reported the latest incident to Booking.com as guest misconduct the following morning.

More than a week later, we are still waiting for any response whatsoever.

We have a Booking.com guest rating of 9.9/10 and participate in its Preferred Plus programme, yet when something goes seriously wrong, we have seen no evidence of enhanced protection or support.

This isn't a rant about guests. Incidents like this are extraordinarily rare here.

It is about a much bigger question:

If major booking platforms have sophisticated fraud-detection technology and detailed customer profiles, how much responsibility should they have for identifying someone an accommodation provider has already barred from returning?

And if something far more serious happened at a host's property, could the platform actually tell the police who that guest was and where they lived?

Our new Beekeeping Experience at Glamping with Llamas gives you the chance to spend around 1½ hours getting a safe, fascinating glimpse inside the hive, guided throughout by Tristan 'Southy' South from Norfolk Bees, a trusted and genuinely knowledgeable beekeeper.

Safely suited up in proper beekeeping clothing, you’ll be able to see what is happening inside a working hive, learn how the colony functions and ask all those questions you have probably wondered about but never had the chance to ask.

You do not need any previous knowledge, just curiosity.

Whether you already love bees or simply want to understand them a little better, it is a very special way to experience the world inside the hive.

We’re delighted to be working with Chameleon Yoga Studio to bring Yoga on the Farm to West Walton (Wisbech).

An hour of gentle morning yoga in the peaceful countryside, with fresh air, open space and the sounds of the farm around you.

And, for those who fancy lingering a little longer afterwards, there’ll be the option to add a fruit & pastry grazing platter.

We’re currently planning our first sessions and would love to know who might be interested.
