It’s a double birthday celebration here at Five Sisters Zoo! 🎂🎉

Please join us in wishing a very happy birthday to our snow leopard Nela, who turns 13, and our fishing cat sisters Tia and Tara, who turn 11! 🐾

To mark the occasion, keeper Emily prepared some special birthday enrichment for them to enjoy. 🎁

Happy Birthday, girls! 🎈❤️

Last year, we were contacted by an authority in England following the ordered closure of a facility and the urgent need to rehome the animals living there.

Inca, the 10-year-old puma, was one of those animals. Faced with an uncertain future and the very real risk of euthanasia, she desperately needed a new home.

Despite not having an ideal long-term space available at the time, we did what we so often do and offered Inca a lifeline here at Five Sisters Zoo.

While she is currently settled in a temporary space, we plan to build her a brand-new enclosure in the coming months, giving her the forever home she deserves.

If you’d like to support the project, you can find more information via the link in the comments below. A huge thank you to everyone who has already supported Inca and helped make this rescue possible. ❤️

On Saturday we welcomed members of East Kilbride Camera Club to one of our Big Cat Photography Experiences! 📸

The group enjoyed behind-the-scenes access and the opportunity to photograph some of our stunning feline residents before heading back to our restaurant for a hot filled roll and a drink.

It was a pleasure to host such a friendly and enthusiastic group, and we hope to welcome them back again in the future!

Interested in joining one of our photography experiences? Visit the link in the comments below to find out more and book online.

Happy World Otter Day! 🦦

Did you know otters are known for juggling and playing with stones? 🪨

Their little paws are incredibly dexterous, helping them grasp, juggle, and explore objects with ease. Some otters have even been observed tucking their favourite stones into loose skin folds under their arms to carry them around!
