💖 Random Acts of Kindness Day – February 17th 💖

Today at Mimram Vets, we’re celebrating the power of kindness and compassion. Our amazing Wellbeing Champion, Stacey, surprised every team member with a little gift pouch as a token of appreciation. These thoughtful treats have truly brightened everyone’s day and spread a little extra love and positivity around the practice 😊🐾

Each pouch included:
✨ A motivational pen & Post-it notes
🧼 A natural soap bar
🍬 A pack of sweets
😜 And, of course, a cheesy animal joke!

Being kind costs nothing, but it can mean everything. Today we’re proud to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day by sharing a little love with our wonderful team ❤️

Cat-friendly care in action 🐾💙 🐈‍⬛ 🐾

At Mimram, we really do try to make visits as stress-free as possible for our feline patients. As an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic, we use minimal restraint, lots of patience… and sometimes a very tasty Lick-e-Lix 😋

Meet Frankie, who needed a blood test and, as usual, was an absolute star ✨💉🩸
With a gentle approach and a well-timed treat, we were able to take his sample with barely any restraint and zero fuss.

Because happy cats (and calm visits!) make all the difference 💙🐾

If you’d like to know more about the ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic. Check out International Cat Care and search ‘Cat Friendly Clinic’

⚠️❤️ Valentine’s Day Pet Safety Reminder ❤️⚠️

With Valentine’s Day approaching, we would like to remind pet owners of some common seasonal hazards that can pose serious health risks to our pets.

🍫Chocolate (Dogs)
Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, both of which are toxic to dogs. Clinical signs may include vomiting, diarrhoea, restlessness, tachycardia, tremors and seizures. Dark and baking chocolate carry the highest risk due to higher cocoa content.

🍬Xylitol (Dogs)
Found in some sugar-free sweets, gum and baked goods, xylitol can cause rapid hypoglycaemia and acute liver failure. This is a medical emergency.

🌺Lilies (Cats)
All parts of the lily plant (including pollen and vase water) are highly toxic to cats and can cause acute kidney injury. Even minimal exposure warrants immediate veterinary attention.

Other potential hazards include:
• Grapes and raisins (risk of acute kidney injury in dogs)
• Alcohol
• Decorative ribbon and packaging (risk of gastrointestinal obstruction)
• Scented candles and essential oils

If you believe your pet has ingested or been exposed to any potentially toxic substance, please contact us.
