It was a very sad day yesterday, we had to say goodbye to Tilly, our oldest girl. She lived 17 long years and was one of the first goats we ever bought along with her sister. She had quads during lock down, which is very unusual and raised many lovely babies over the years. She had an attitude and bossed all the other goats about but such a great character. I will really miss her, but hopefully she is happily grazing some nice green pastures now with her sister.

We have been in Guernsey for the last 2 days visiting Sue who imported some of our Pygmies over the last few years. There are very few Pygmies in Guernsey, so it is an exciting project for Sue. The last 2 photos are of the young Billy ‘Gideon’ that was exported in April this year. They look amazing and we are excited to see some new kids born next spring to this lovely little herd. Well done Sue and Becky.

These three lovely girls are going to their new home on Saturday. Their new owner has had babies from me before and has her own herd and is very experienced. They are very lucky little ladies. It’s always makes parting with them easier when I know they will be loved and cared for.

In the nest behind are a further 3 canary chicks. This little guy has clearly decided it is far too hot to be snuggled up with your siblings. He definitely isn’t ready to fledge yet, so hopefully he will return to the nest when it cools down.

This morning this handsome young man has travelled to Guernsey by private plane from Cambridge airfield. He is joining the 4 others that his new owner Sue imported from us in 2022. Sue is passionate about her animals and has waited patiently throughout the Blue tongue outbreak for Guernsey vets to agree for him to be brought onto the island. There are very few Pygmy goats on the island and he will be the only breeding buck. It has took over 3 months, quarantine, lots of bloods and health checks to get him cleared for export but so worth it. I look forward to seeing his offspring. — feeling delighted
