With talks of a heatwave being on its way in the UK, TOXIC blue-green algae may be caused to bloom throughout still or slow-flowing water! So, before you let your dog cool off by taking a dip in the lake, stream, river or canal this summer, please do remember to thoroughly check the water first 🔎 Blue-green algae can be very tricky to spot, and may even vary in shades and texture, from green flakes to streaks of green like spilled paint, to brown clumps.

Producing invisible toxins that can cause serious organ damage, blue-green algae can be deadly for your dog, and if exposed to it they can become ill very quickly! ⚠️ If you’re worried that your dog has come into contact with blue-green algae, speak to your vet immediately! 🐶🚫
