🎉💙🎉 APPLICATIONS CLOSED 30.01.2026 🎉💙🎉

Dogs name: Baxter.
Age: 3 years old.
Current location: Burntwood, Staffordshire.
I CAN LIVE WITH
Children: Yes, dog savvy children.
Cats: Untested.
Dogs: Yes, calm and playful dogs – they must be accepting of new dogs in the home. No entire males.

A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Baxter is an affectionate, people‑oriented boy who absolutely thrives on attention. He loves moving from one family member to the next for fuss, and if you stop stroking him, he’ll gently paw you as a reminder that he’s still there. He enjoys being touched everywhere ears squished, chin scratches, tummy rubs and he soaks up love from the children, especially when they come home from school.
He’s happiest when he’s close to his people. Whether you’re watching TV or pottering around the house, Baxter likes to curl up on your feet or settle right beside you. He’s incredibly loving, loyal, and eager to be part of the family’s daily rhythm.
Playtime in the garden with the kids is full of energy and fun, and despite his enthusiasm, he listens beautifully. Tell him “basket” and he trots straight to the kitchen on the first ask he’s not a stubborn boy at all, just keen to please and be involved.

Behaviour:
Baxter loves to play and has a very excitable, bouncy nature. He happily engages with toys, and you can take them from him without any issue. However, once the toy is removed, he becomes so enthusiastic that he will often spring or jump back toward it, which could easily knock over a young child purely by accident.
He also enjoys “borrowing” children’s items such as toys, socks, or slippers, and will give you a cheeky side‑eye to get your attention.
Baxter does enjoy rough-and-tumble play and has never shown any signs of aggression. He is simply a strong, energetic dog who doesn’t always understand his own size. During his mischievous moments, he may try to nibble at your toes while you’re standing, and he loves doing zoomies during which children usually need to hop onto the sofa to stay out of his path.
His foster dad often plays with him in a more physical, wrestling‑style way, and Baxter thoroughly enjoys this type of interaction.

Needs:
Baxter will thrive in a loving, interactive home where he can be at the heart of family life.
Because he’s strong, excitable, and full of enthusiasm, Baxter needs a family who can manage his bouncy play style.
A garden is an absolute must for him.
A calm but playful doggy companion will benefit Baxter greatly, to keep him company when his people can’t and help bring his confidence levels up.

Walk/exercise:
Baxter is an easy, well‑mannered walker. He goes slightly ahead but never pulls, and even children can walk him confidently when supervised by adults. He sits calmly when you stop to clean up after him.
When he sees people or dogs, he may pause for reassurance, but once he knows everything’s fine, he’s incredibly friendly and playful. Even if other dogs bark or act aggressively, he stays relaxed and doesn’t react.
He loves staying close, always stops at roads, and gets adorably excited for walks sometimes grabbing or wrestling with his lead to show he’s ready to go.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Baxter is a good boy. He may have the occasional accident as he settles, will soon understand your routine.

Travel:
Baxter travels very well, he will settle down and relax wherever you put him. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**

Things to be aware of:
Baxter may need BOAS surgery in the future, however if his health and diet is continually managed, he should continue as the happy playful soul that he is. This will be the responsibility of his adopted family.
Baxter has allergies so he will need to continue on his current hypoallergenic diet.
Sometimes Baxter is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Baxter has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information from Baxter’s foster family:
We absolutely adore Baxter, he has stole our hearts and there is going to be a lot of tears in our house when he leaves us. He is like a big cuddly teddy bear! Everyone loves Baxter, he is so striking and affectionate. He is always pleased to see you. He is also very cheeky and clever! He will pinch your slippers/ socks or anything he’s not supposed to, just to get your attention or take a blanket out of the humans blanket basket and go to sleep on it. He’s perfect. We feel incredibly lucky to have been part of his journey. We want him to be someone’s everything because that’s what he will give you.

Baxter’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.
