Showjumper one day.. happy hack the next

Trevor LOVES to hack, he likes to be upfront leading the way and just aswell as he’s incredibly bold.
We’ve passed all sorts of traffic without hesitation (okay we are on a quiet road but we do get cars/vans/bikes/walkers/tractors/dogs)

Into an open field for canter and a couple of pictures… full control happy to go but also happy to stop. Doesn’t get wound up or silly.

Here’s what else we learned

✅Happy to pass a variety of traffic
✅Happy to go first or last (although does prefer up front he walks fast)
✅Not spooky looky or silly in any way
✅Good with dogs around his feet
✅Controlled in open spaces
✅Can open/shut gates on him
✅Not phased by wind turbines🤣

Lovely sales livery Trevor headed out to Morris this week for a lovely double clear in both the 90 & 1m

Here’s what else he proved

✅Super to load
✅Travels brilliantly
✅Stood well on the truck
✅Tied to the truck and tacked up without any issues
✅Warmed up well with others
✅Didn’t look at a thing
✅Passed tractors in a busy car park

I left here myself with Trevor and he loaded and travelled lovely so would be easily managed by someone that goes out and about on their own, he has incredible manners 🧡

Busy day for us as we waved off 2 of our lovely sales liveries.

Lovely Lady who was here 2.5yrs ago and sadly outgrown has found what we think will be her forever home 🦄 her new owner has waited a long time for the perfect horse and scrolled every sales ad in the UK but when she saw Lady she knew she was for her!
It was love at first sight or ride as it may be and she just absolutely adored Lady and all her Lady like sass 💁‍♀️
Big thanks to Duncan at Ayr Equestrian Transport for taking her to her new home 🚛

And wee Tootie Fruitie has also found a really lovely home just round the corner from us where she’ll make 2 little girls extremely happy! Again they fell in love and after a couple of viewings, a 5 stage vetting and a negative strangles result she headed to her new home today.
Big thanks to Gracie who has been doing all things ‘pony club’ with Tootie over the last few days and was up ready for loading her and waving her off today 🥰🦄

Delighted to have been at Musselburgh today watching the fantastic ‘Gallus Norman’ win for his wonderful owners Fiona & Frank 🥰

Norman is full brother to ‘Corky’ and half brother to ‘Millie’ who are currently at Meadowhead 🐎💨

Big Gallus Norman won his 1st race at Musselburgh this afternoon under a brilliant ride from Eireann Cagney making that 20 winners of 2026 for the team!

We get asked a lot what happens with the horses when they are sold pending vettings or sold awaiting collection??

Of course we then start to focus the advertising onto the horses under assessment and you’ll see them in videos more often and we will post about them more often.

But as for the ones awaiting departure…..
We continue riding them, they get treated like our own.

Here’s Bo today with our livery and friend Fiona patiently waiting on Catriona tacking up one of her own at our other yard. Bo solo hacked away from meadowhead and down into the hares (our other yard) then accompanied myself and Elm around the windfarm dropped us back home and hacked by himself (with Fiona of course) back to meadowhead.

We then did a bit of loading training (wasn’t much training involved, he walked straight on) as requested by his new mum 🦄

I think I’ve contacted everyone that was booked in for viewings over the next few days and can only apologise for any inconvenience caused but…..

And he’ll be joined by another lovely allrounder horse who will be arriving tomorrow morning to start his assessment after providing a very impressive CV we don’t think he’ll be around long 🩶🦄

Tootie Fruitie

We’ve had lots of video requests of t***s being ridden by kids, on the lead, off the lead, over fences, how responsive to the leg is she, on the lunge, over jumps, over a course of jumps, will she trot and canter over jumps, does she have brakes.
All a bit much for me (and a couple of decades too old for the requests) so it was Gracie’s turn to take her for a test drive and put her through her paces….

I can confirm we had to prise her off the pony at the end of the day before she missed her jumping competition tonight 🤣🤣
