Another great review from a happy dog and his Dad.

“I can’t recommend The Walkabout way highly enough.
Both Carol and Stuart have vast experience in a huge array of dog training Classes that can make a life changing difference to your dog and you as the owner.
My experience of a few 1:2:1 sessions then moving into classes has been utterly fundamental in the change of the behaviour of my dog. After a short time my GSD is like another dog, I have learned what I need to do to work the dog, give him stimulation away from just walking him and learnt how to start on a longer journey of agility and nosework - Scentwork training.
Carol and Stuart are utter legends in my opinion and should be applauded for there friendly, comfortable environments they create which makes you feel at ease no matter your level. You also get to meet other owners and have valuable socialisation sessions with other dogs too.
If you’re looking for a dog trainer you won’t get any better than this.”

If we can help you, then get in touch soon. August brings us the summer discount for our 1:2:1’s with cooler evenings and opportunities to learn more about your dog.

Let’s talk about what we feed our dogs and how to make sure that what we feed them, suits them.

By the way if you can’t pick the poo 💩 up easily it can be a sign that something isn’t right. Over many years of working within the pet trade we’ve seen many dog foods come and go we’ve seen many problems with illnesses come and go. It does seem that every now and then, a new problem appears – it’s probably not new but it’s new to our generation and there’s always a new cure.

Before I say anything else I must say if you’re at all worried about your dog always get a check by the Vet and not rely on the dog park expert. If you’ve just been seeing soft poo 💩 and the odd sick bit of sickness on a regular basis , please take this as a sign that something isn’t going right and maybe it’s the time to talk to somebody about whether you’re feeding the correct food for your particular dog. . Not every dog can eat the same food- although if you watch them scavenge, you might think so.

When we had nine dogs , yes nine German Shepherds and believe me their tummies are worse than many dogs, we found that we had to find the particular food for each specific dog. Then factor in if they were under any stress for any reason - that could be illness and pain, upset due to change of dynamics in the home or change of circumstances, then we would see it showing in their dogs poo💩. So at the start of Harvest time, this is just an appeal for you just to be a little bit more observant of your dog and if you’re worried get it checked properly.

Here’s some tips:
Keep a diary for a few days and see if there’s a pattern.
Naturally if you see any blood, go straight to the Vet and talk to them.
Puppies teething is just one stress that can cause softer 💩
Change of diet
Too much food or treats
Family members change - someone leaves or dies or someone new arrives
House move - everyone changes and dogs like safe spaces.
Eating grass and drinking out of puddles or the sea- they all do it!
Heat stress - obviously not ideal to walk in the heat but actually being too hot indoors can also affect your dog.
