I'm exicited to be back this Sunday at the Waterbeach Community Market with my Doggie Photobooth! We have a range of backdrops from fun to fine art. You can expect doggie heads floating in space, majestic Lions, b&w art finishes & magical confetti sombreos. We have funny hats, bandanas, collars and costumes to make the perfect portrait of your cutie patooties.

We'll be set up at the entrance of the market by the Waterbeach Barracks. We also offer 1-2-1 dog training for those naughty but nice pups and are happy to discuss behavioural issues and training plans.

A great observation on canine play. Balanced & well socialised dogs are able to cap themselves to the other dogs abilities, to keep play balanced and fun. So even if your dog is quite vocal, look for the play bow! 🐕🐶🏆

My daily rounds on giving advice to reactive dog owners and how to start managing the behaviours. Teaching their dogs new positive behaviours they can rely on, by always practising FOR the situation so they know how to react IN the situation.

Safety & management is always the most important thing to consider with reactivity. A positive reinforcement behaviourist can help with a personalised plan for your dog to set them up for success and recondition their fear responses, to help them become calm, happy, confident dogs 🙏🏼

The advice covers: introducing babies into your home with a fearful dog. Resource guarding, safety and management. Muzzle training to prevent bite incidents and giving dogs new behaviours to counter their emotional over flow and get them to think before reacting. Dogs that come from traumatic pasts that may be experiencing ptsd.

Teaching Oreo to walk backwards 🐕✨️
Difficulty: Advanced
Requires: Middle + treats

We use a treat to lure her head towards her chest until she moves a paw back to get to it. That's when we mark + reward. This is called splitting. We're teaching her through baby steps how to walk backwards 🥳 It takes consistence and daily practise to get to this stage! Why not try this with your dog at home.

We're always told that our dogs have to get on with other dogs. But that's really not the case. Dogs have their own individual preferences, similar to people and can choose to prefer human company over canine company. Building a trusting, fun relationship with your dog should be what trainings about. The more value we pour into that relationship, the more eager they will be to learn with you 🌼🐕🥏

Training doesnt have to be boring or a chore. Understanding how our dogs brains work is a crucial step into figuring out what training they need and what games we should play with them!

When you finally realise you don't have to dominate your dog and understand what's happening in their brains, it's so much easier to be compassionate and empathetic towards our dogs needs. 🐩🐶
