The babies all had some grass time today. Another milestone ✅

All of them are 5 weeks this week.

I still have 3 BEW Mini Plush does left. In fact I’m questioning whether to keep going with the plush - someone really needs to convince me other than the cute factor.

The Mini Rex litters I still haven’t decided on. I have a few reserved but all the boys are up for discussion to the right homes. It’s very rare that I wait this long to see who I’m going to keep but also I’ve seen distinct changes in coats, type and temperament anywhere up to 20 weeks.

But feel free to chat to me. I do have adults and definitely babies looking for new grass 🌾

The boys at their second country show 🌾

Albert 1st in Adult Orange Mini Rex and 3rd in Rex Challenge against some beautiful standard black Rex.

Moose came 2nd in Adult Orange Mini Rex.

They did beautifully in front of thousands of people again at Ryedale show.

It was lovely meeting new people and we also managed to put some names to faces and make some new connections.

It was also great receiving questions from the public enquiring about what we do, why and how we do it 💪🏻🐰

Thank you all and well done! Great company and fab day out.

It’s assessment day!

I’ve done this with all my stock over the years but this year I wanted to become a bit stricter on who I end up keeping. I’ve also been applying what I’ve learnt this year so far to these litters, assessing type, coat and colour AND temperament.

These babies are quickly approaching week 4 and there are some promising youngsters in there and I couldn’t help myself but get them out and assess them today.

With the weather being naff, I did this inside. Normally I do this outside so I can see and document a bit better - apologies for the quality and lighting.

For added fun, I’ll give these babies, Moorside Stud awards 🤩

Introducing Kit 🤗

I said to myself I wouldn’t be introducing anymore rabbits for the rest of the year BUT when I saw this lad, I knew I had to have him 🖤

He’s really unusual in the fact that he is not otter but in fact a black & tan mini Rex.

He comes from the Jagger family, a family of breeders not far from me, who was wonderful, in the fact that he took no trouble in sharing their knowledge with me and allowing me to have Kit, even though I won’t be breeding from him this year.

This is also the first rabbit that is also rung that I have owned from someone else. PJ has very kindly allowed me to show him, get comments on him and promote the black & tan colour for the breed.

We are still working through our show calendar for the rest of the year ✨

It’s nice to be working on yet another project albeit probably next year now.

A great day all round at Driffield Agricultural Show today 🚜🌾

The boys were put in front of thousands of people and did exceptionally well, taking everything in their stride. Usually they’re only used to a handful of people at a rabbit show 🐰

We are all home now and absolutely exhausted 😴🏡
