Safe cats rescue Warrington Safe Cats Rescue – Warrington, Cheshire
100% voluntary non-profit rescue helping cats & kittens in need. Every cat deserves love, care & a second chance

We specialise in ferals, TNR, colonies & rehoming through our adoption centre. About Safe Cats Rescue
Safe Cats Rescue is a completely voluntary, non-profit organisation dedicated to saving and improving the lives of as many cats and kittens as we can. In addition to our rescue and adoption centre, we also care for several feral colonies. All cats in our colonies have been neutered or spayed, and

we provide them with food, shelters, and ongoing support. Our small, caring team has years of experience working with both domestic and feral cats. If you're interested in adopting, we’ll first ask for your house number and postcode to check the area on Google Maps, as we don’t rehome near busy roads. After that, we carry out a very informal home check — it’s just a relaxed chat where both sides can ask questions. This helps avoid raising hopes unnecessarily and ensures the best fit for both the cat and adopter. All cats adopted from us are:
✔️ Flea and worm treated
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Neutered/spayed
✔️ Fully vaccinated
✔️ Come with one month of free Petplan insurance

Adoption fee (as of 2024):

£100 per cat or kitten

£180 for a bonded pair
(This is actually less than the cost of the vet treatment provided!)

Want to pop by and socialise with the cats for an hour in the afternoon? Please send us a PM first — we’ll make sure your visit doesn’t clash with others. 😊

We had a fantastic day at Birchwood Carnival today and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to support Safe Cats Rescue.

A special congratulations to the lovely young lad who won the skateboard on our tombola we hope you enjoy your prize! 🛹

Our stall was busy throughout the day, with our boys' and girls' lucky dips, tombola and book sale proving popular. Seeing so many people stop by to support the rescue made all the hard work worthwhile.

What many people don't realise is that Safe Cats Rescue is run entirely by just three people the founders of the rescue. Alongside caring for our own pets and the rescue cats, we deal with every rescue call, vet trip, home check, fundraising event, feral colony feeding round, lost cat report, paperwork and administration ourselves.

Before an event even begins, there are many hours spent collecting and sorting donations, preparing tombola prizes, making up lucky dip bags, loading the van, organising stock and equipment, and planning the day. Then comes setting up, running the stall, packing everything away and unloading again afterwards.

Today was a particularly long day as we booked a double stall and, unfortunately, none of the volunteers who had kindly offered to help were able to attend. We completely understand that circumstances can change, but as a small rescue, even a quick message to let us know can make a huge difference. It allows us to arrange alternative help or adjust our plans accordingly.

Despite the long hours, days like today remind us why we do it. Every pound raised helps us continue rescuing, neutering, feeding and caring for cats in need.

Thank you to everyone who supported us today. We couldn't do it without you. ❤️🐾

Oh my goodness he is like an adorable teddy bear 🧸🥰

We have noticed while he was rolling on his back he has an old cut/ wound on his chest which has scabbed over but he isnt the easiest to photo because he never sits still long enough lol

This is Loki 🐾

He’s the dad cat from our recent colony rescue and is currently being fostered by myself (Mark) as Safe Cats Rescue is completely full.

When he first arrived he was extremely nervous and unsure of human contact, and although he’s still very wary, its very early days and he is slowly learning that he is safe. Moments like this where he will stay still and allow gentle fuss while watching everything carefully are part of that trust-building process.

Cats like Loki don’t adjust overnight,

Right now we are completely at capacity and fostering cats in our own homes while we continue to care for existing cases. We are unable to take in any new cats at this time.

Please be patient with us if you message we are still helping where we can, but we simply do not have the space or resources to say yes to every request.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Safe Cats Rescue. It truly makes moments like this possible. ❤️🐾

If you would like to support our work, please consider sharing our page or helping us with supplies for the cats already in our care — it all makes a real difference.

Another update from our ongoing colony rescue 🐾❤️

When we first attended this site, our intention was simply to assess the situation and help a young kitten suffering with severe matting. We never imagined that just two weeks later we would have rescued a total of nine cats and kittens from the same location.

Today, our trap was triggered once again, this time by a large long-haired black cat. He is not microchipped and is currently very frightened, growling and hissing, which is completely understandable given everything he has been through. Interestingly, he looks very similar to several of the cats already rescued from the colony, just much larger, leading us to wonder whether he may be the dad to some of the younger cats.

As always, he is now safe and will receive the care, food, warmth and veterinary attention he needs while we assess him further.

With the rescue completely full, we have had to get creative to continue helping these cats. Last night I personally (Mark) took the youngest kitten home to foster, and today this latest arrival has also joined me in foster care so that we can continue rescuing any cats still remaining at the site.

The trap remains set and we will continue monitoring the area. Colony rescues are often unpredictable, and we want to be absolutely certain that no cats are left behind.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this rescue so far. Your kindness has helped us save nine cats in just two weeks and gives us the ability to keep going when more cats continue to appear. ❤️🐾
