Walton Hall, the former home of Lord and Lady Daresbury is an Elizabethan style mansion, set amidst tranquil parkland. The grounds offer a breath taking photographic setting at any time of year with rhododendrons providing a blaze of colour during spring and summer and later as the trees take on autumnal shades, golden leaves carpet the manicured lawns during autumn and early winter. The Hall is i
deal for weddings, birthdays, christenings, family celebrations, funerals, seminars, conferences, presentations, and business meetings. Carefully restored and refurbished, the interior boasts antique furniture, Victorian paintings, oak panelled hall, grand staircase, a magnificent fireplace, and high gilded ceilings provide a warm and inviting atmosphere, much as it did for the guests of the Daresbury's over a century ago. At Walton Hall we have four function rooms arranged over two floors for either daytime or evening events. We also have three outdoor options for wedding ceremonies during the summer months - the bandstand, the pergola and, new for Spring 2022, the woodland hideaway! Our lovingly restored glasshouses stand proudly in the gardens, providing a home for exotic plants, an atrium for community events and activities, and an educational hub for our partners, Myerscough College and the Walton Lea Partnership. The park has a children's play area, children's zoo, pitch and putt, adventure golf, bowling, high ropes course, and a coffee shop (some attractions are seasonal). The formal gardens offer a variety of plants and shrubs as well as local wildlife - rabbits, squirrels, buzzards, and if you are lucky, even a weasel or badger! There is also an ornamental pond with carp (and the odd terrapin!), and beautiful walks through the woodland for you to enjoy.
