Meet Benji
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
Age: 10.5 years old
Neutered Male
Approx 5kg
Benji made his way back to us after his new home unfortunately didn’t work out. He has been back with us for a few weeks now, has settled back in and we are looking to find his forever home.
Prior to coming into foster with us, Benji has lived in 1 home all of his life with an elderly owner who is sadly no longer able to care for him.
He is very ball obsessed and will play fetch for as long as possible. We are currently training and working on his self control around the ball, but he is a typical terrier & a very drivey boy.
Benji is very well behaved offlead, with a good recall and a solid release cue. This has been tested around other dogs/birds, squirrels etc. We are working on a loose off-lead “close” which he is doing very well with.
Benji has been introduced to many dogs, and shows very little interest; he is very respectful and hasn’t shown any signs of resource guarding of balls or food. He is mostly disinterested in other dogs, but have found that once he feels comfortable/safe around a stable-neutral dog, he does come out of his shell and encourages play.
A lap dog at heart who will be more than satisfied curled up beside a loving owner after a good game of fetch.
Benji needs a home with:
✅ Lots of Terrier experience
✅ Someone who will give him an outlet, lots of play and terrier-suitable activities
✅ Good boundaries, and will continue his training
✅ Someone who will commit to multiple meet & greets & trial nights to get to know him and his quirks.
