SURVIVOR
We’ve had a series of cats in practice recently presenting with symptoms of Feline Infectious Peritonitis. More commonly known as FIP, this serious condition is caused by a spontaneous mutation of feline coronavirus. Symptoms can initially be vague and may include fever, loss of appetite, weight loss, lethargy and neurological issues. Until recently, FIP was untreatable and was almost always fatal.
Three month old Imogen was very very poorly when she first came in to see us with suspected FIP. FIP can occur in cats of any age, but it’s much more common in youngsters. This is Imogen approximately six weeks after starting treatment, having a cuddle with our vet Emma at her check up. What an amazing transformation! Back to her normal self! Fabulous to see her all better!
