Vitality Farm

Vitality Farm Vitality farm is dedicated to understanding and improving the human relationships between soil, plant, animal, and the plant. Farming home of Savory Ins UK Hub

Vitality Farm raises rare breed Red Poll cattle, that are slow grown, 100% pasture raised. Holistic Management and Planned grazing have been started (07/15) and even with our perceived lush water meadows we have a target of 300% increase in grass, soil and carbon sequestration......all to be achieved without chemical intervention, the way nature originally designed the paradigm. Besides meat and other foods grown in these ways tend to taste significantly better.

Everyone has a part to play in reducing our reliance on imported foods, but ministers must provide incentives, says Tim Lang of the Centre for Food Policy

Its been a long time since we were on either the Farmers or the Local Producers Market in Wallingford.
At the time we had pigs, cows, hens and occasionally some home grown veg.

And then life gets 'in the way'! We no longer work to get an 'Organic Certificate'. We are as fully regenerative as any tenant farmer in the country, and brought not just one of the key aspects of it to the UK (Holistic Management) but also Ecological Outcome Verification. Basically it means we can prove by the changes on the ground/soil/environment that we do what we say. But thats the boring stuff!!!

Already this spring we have finished the first 'Organic' - in all but the certificate- Saddleback pigs in a very long time! Having made award winning sausages we have gone the extra step of making them ALL gluten free. The bacon is traditionally cured and smoked. There is a lovely choice of pork cuts too. And we will soon be offering 100% pastured and organic beef too.

The 'shop' is now online, offering an array of Organic Certified produce (not ours) as well as many things you might not expect.

We have got used to a diversity if birds on the farm, from owls, kites, buzzards, herons, sparrow hawks, teals and even snipe amongst them, but with new grazing at Clifton Hampden (Earth Trust) we can now add Cattle Egret to the mix.

Planned Grazing has had many benefits over the last 10 years on the meadows at Wallingford and Hinksey and we look forward to extending the magic!
