Another great weekend of racing for birds bred here, but the performace of the weekend was over in Belfast with Bingham, Seaton & Dow
The race was from Benamore with the NIPA flown Mon 4th May. It was a testing race in a NE wind.
Their game 2 yr old c**k was
1st Section C 3,298 birds
4th Open 18,535 birds
This c**k has previously won for the partnership, last year as a yearling from Roscrea flown on 3rd May 2025. He was
1st club 641 birds
11ts Section C 3,527 birds
77th Open 23,289 birds
Just after that race he had a nasty bump which was too big to stitch. They had to tape him up with duck tape to stop the water pouring from his crop. He was then rested for the year to recover and put back on the road in 2026. He has certainly paid them back this weekend for nursing him back to health. The pigeon has since been named "Duck Tape" and is one of the favourites in the loft.
His Sire is a Pitbull bred by David Peeters. He is the production of a special pairing. In 2021 myself and a good mate of mine Meirion Eaves went to visit David and whilst there we asked him to pair certain birds together for us to purchase birds from. This c**k was off one of those pairing and is a Dbl G Son of the Famous Pitbull 777.
His Dam was bred by Panis J***y, who I obtained via Sheldon Leonard. She is a Dtr of Super Dirk, making her half sister to Witte Dirk.
When setting up the stud Sheldon played an instrumental role in helping to select the right birds and has always been available for help and advice when I've needed it. I really cant thank him enough as im sure the stud would not be the success it is, without his valuable advice. He was also the person that introduced me to Lee and Willie so has a part to play in this great achievement.
Lads many congratulations on the win 🏆, im sure its not the last we will hear of "Duck Tape". The call I received from Willie on Monday evening, really made up my weekend.
