Christmas Foods to Keep Away from Your Dog
The festive season is here, but let's not forget that some Christmas treats can be harmful to our furry friends. Here’s a list of foods you should be extra cautious about this holiday season:

1️⃣
Blue Cheese – Can lead to muscle tremors and seizures due to roquefortine C produced by the fungus in blue cheeses.

2️⃣
Alcohol – Dogs are more sensitive than humans, and even a small amount can lead to intoxication, low blood sugar, seizures, and even coma.

3️⃣
Macadamia nuts – These can cause weakness, vomiting, tremors, and even increased body temperature in dogs.

4️⃣
Sage & onion stuffing – Onions can damage a dog's red blood cells and cause life-threatening anemia.

5️⃣
Mince pies, Christmas cake, pudding & chocolate-covered raisins – These contain raisins, currants, and sultanas, which are toxic to dogs. If ingested, effects can take days to show, so contact your vet right away!

6️⃣
Chocolate – Dangerous to dogs due to theobromine, which can be found in advent calendars, chocolate coins, or wrapped gifts under the tree.

7️⃣
Bones – Never give your dog cooked bones. They can splinter and cause serious injuries to the stomach or intestines.

8️⃣
Mouldy food – Can contain toxins that could make your dog seriously ill.
If you think your dog has eaten any of these, contact your vet immediately. They may need to know how much was consumed, when, and your dog’s breed, weight, and age. It's always best to prevent accidents by keeping these dangerous foods out of reach!
Wishing you and your pets a safe and wonderful Christmas!
