My name is Victoria and I am one of the country's few Master Craftsman Groomers with a level 5 education specific to dog grooming. I specialise in behavioural grooming to help those dogs who have nervous, fearful or aggressive tendencies. I also really enjoy working with elderly and disabled dogs that other groomers cannot manage. I prefer to use consent-based methods where possible to help build

a bond of trust with my canine clients. I find that this is the healthiest way to complete a safe and comfortable groom. The mental health of the dogs that visit me is my number one priority. All quotes include bath, drying, brush, cut/restyle (if needed), ear cleaning and nail clipping. I also provide medicated shampoo for dogs with skin problems. I can also provide small trims for those dogs whose nails, fringes and paws grow quicker than the rest of the body. Additional services include reiki for dogs and EmmiPet teeth cleaning.

Today I woke up to the news that another one of my favourite Shampoochies has passed away.

I’ve been grooming him for a very long time and he was fighting cancer.
What made this news harder to swallow was that just a short while ago, his parents brought him in for a bonus groom because he LOVED coming to see me.

I loved him. I love all my Shampoochies.
It hurts every time one crosses the Rainbow Bridge, but I’m a big believer in earning the grief. If we didn’t love, it wouldn’t hurt.
So, I’ll feel this pain for Prince and cherish it. I’ll cry for his wonderful parents who so clearly adored, respected and cherished him. Just like I cry for the rest of my Shampoochies who have crossed the bridge over the last 15 years.

I’ll earn that grief and pain and hope that it never numbs because it is a consequence of working with dogs that I love.

And I wouldn’t change it.

I love you Prince 🌈

Today I saved my dogs life.
Literally SAVED HIS LIFE.

Odin was having his breakfast and began to choke. His tongue went white and he began to pass out. He was wheezing and struggling so fiercely that he urinated. I had to give him the Heimlich manoeuvre 3 times before the piece of kibble came shooting out.

We went to the emergency vets where he was checked out and declared shaken but healthy.

Would you know what to do if your dog choked? I implore you to have a look at the Heimlich manoeuvre and learn it.

I’m so grateful that I had that knowledge and for the amazing staff at Calder Vets who gave him love, attention and bum rubs this morning.

He is fine now but I have to monitor him over the next few days to make sure he’s eating, breathing and sleeping properly. And he’s going on to soft food from now on!

Im taking the rest of the day off to be with my Shampoochies and just love all over them. ❤️

Also, thank you to the lovely customers who rescheduled today’s appointments at the last minute without complaint. You’re amazing. 🤩

And sorry to the cute little mint green Beetle/Mini ??? (I don’t know cars!) that I cut up on the mad mile in Ossett - it’s really hard to keep the speed limit whilst panicking with a poorly dog in the car 😥

Please learn this life saving technique - I can’t bear to think what would have happened had I not known what to do.
