Marleys first flight out of his cage in just under one year 😭 He arrived in our rescue last week for us to find him a new home, and although he was very loved by his family, he sadly didn't come out of the cage for a long time. We can not stress this enough how important it is for a birds physical and mental health to be out of their cage, flying, foraging and socialising every day. Without going too into it!

For some insane reason, it seems to be ok for a bird to live in a cage, alone and not coming out, but is it not widely acceptable for a dog to live in a crate. Neither are ok!
We do not aim to shame anyone or ever question the love people have for their birds, but if we can reach through to just one person who is in a similar situation to improve a birds life, then we've done our job. PLEASE reach out to us, we are here to help and we are here to support you make these important changes for your birds' welfare.

Marley is undergoing rehabilitation and does already have a home lined up, therefore he is not available.

This little lovebird has been brought into the rescue today after being found stray in the Wakefield, WF1 area. Someone must be missing this lovely little bird!

He/she is quite stressed, so is being kept nice and quiet.
