🧡First day at daycare for Winnie and she’s already making memories!🧡

Starting socialisation at a young age helps puppies build confidence, learn important doggy manners, and develop positive relationships with other dogs in a safe and supervised environment.

Our woodland based daycare provides endless natural enrichment, from exciting new scents and textures to plenty of opportunities for exploration and discoveries!🌳🍂

Today was all about building confidence, having fun, and making friends for life. We can't wait to watch Winnie grow, learn, and thrive with her new Hounds family🥰🧡🐶

Today, we share some heartbreaking news.

Our beloved friend and colleague Mick sadly took his life on Monday 25th May.

Mick has been part of the Hounds family since the very beginning. He dedicated so much of his time, energy, and heart to the dogs in our care, and to everyone lucky enough to know him. His dream was to help train therapy dogs, inspired by his best friend Bear, whose companionship meant the world to him.

If you ever met Mick, you’ll remember his humour. Whether it was a joke over the radio, a witty comment through passing, laughter seemed to follow him wherever he went.

He often used the doggy naptimes to watch a new show, most recently having been watching the whole of Batman, sometimes we wouldn’t hear from him over the radio for a while only to later find out he had been making the most stupid comedy videos with the dogs that we’d get sent later in the day.

Rest easy, Mick. Give Bear a cuddle from all of us🧡

🐾Name: Teddy B
🐾Age: - 4 years 6 months
🐾Breed: Labrador Retriever
🐾Breed fun fact: The Labrador Retriever is an active, friendly, loving dog who thrives on human companionship, wanting nothing more than to please their owners (except perhaps eat anything and everything, and jump in any water they can find!). They are ideal pets for households with children and they get on well with other household animals.
Labradors are a very happy breed, extremely affectionate, constantly wagging their tails and always on the go. They are easily trained, being eager to learn, and to please, and can turn their paw to just about anything. They are total foodies however, which helps with their training, but not their waistlines!
🐾Personality: An all round happy chap! Absolutely ball obsessed and obsessed with staff member Hope!! When Teddy first came he absolutely adored the other dogs however was very nervous around the staff. Hope spent so much time doing 1-1 sessions with him and now he comes beaming through the doors for her and is slowly liking a little fuss from the other staff members.
🐾Quirks: has a thing for munching on black dogs tails!! So if your dog ever comes home with a wet tail, Teddy has probably had a little nibble!

🐾Age: - 2 years 7 months

🐾Personality: Newton is such a fun loving dog all round!! He adores all of his friends and won’t say no to a big slobbery kiss! He’s so polite and helps new dogs settle in all the time! He’s a Ray of sunshine and has incredible manners.
🐾Quirks: Newton has such a brilliant day at Hounds that when it’s home time and we’re putting his harness on he barely makes it out the door before falling asleep standing up!!

At Hounds, dogs don’t just come to daycare… they come to find their people 🐾🧡

Chester & Otis are the perfect example of what we’re all about. Confidence grows, friendships blossom, and before you know it you’ve got two best mates charging through the woodland together like they’ve known each other forever 🌿✨

A place for play, adventure, and friendships for life 🐶

(Featuring Otis finishing with an unexpected forward roll because apparently regular zoomies weren’t enough 🤸‍♂️😂)

🐾Name: Steve
🐾Age: - 3 years 2 months
🐾Breed: Border Collie x Doberman
🐾Breed fun fact: The Doberman Collie mix (or Dobie Collie) is a highly intelligent, energetic, and loyal hybrid, combining the protective, athletic nature of a Doberman Pinscher with the intense herding drive and smarts of a Border Collie. Extremely high energy, requiring intense exercise and mental challenges, such as agility or obedience training. They are easy to train due to high intelligence, but require firm, consistent guidance and early socialization.
🐾Personality: Steve is the kindest young man you ever did meet!! He’s the perfect match for any new dogs we have and reads body language so well- he’s the perfect boy for helping dogs improve confidence! he’s incredible at making new friends and is friends with everyone- and gives the best cuddles and kisses.
🐾Quirks: A ball lover!!! Steve adores a game of chase with either the dogs or balls and sticks. He’s such a handsome boy (I’ve even included his photo from his pawrents wedding)

🐾Name: Sam
🐾Age: - 1 year 1 month
🐾Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
🐾Breed fun fact: The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel wears their connection to British history their breed's name. Cavaliers are the best of two worlds, combining the gentle attentiveness of a toy breed with the verve and athleticism of a sporting spaniel. The Cavalier's all-around beauty, regal grace, and even temper mark him as one of dogdom's noblemen. Cavaliers may be aristocrats, but they gladly descend from their royal high horse for a backyard frolic or a squirrel chase. They get along nicely with children and other dogs. Adaptable Cavaliers do equally well with active owners and homebodies. They can be upbeat athletes or shameless couch potatoes, depending on an owner's lifestyle.
🐾Personality: Calm and loving, if you want a cuddle little Sammy is always there!! he loves a play with some of his best friends and when he’s not playing you’ll definitely find him in someone’s arms for the most loving cuddle!
🐾Quirks: Little Sammy started off as a quiet and content boy who struggled to make friends and wouldn’t even go for a wee! He started on small 2 hour sessions and now comes for full days and and has made so so many friends and has come on leaps and bounds!! Now everyone Sam meets is his friend and he’s always running around (especially with a stick)🤩
