Our Little Bear is very friendly, loves people, loves his Bachelor Boy herd companions, and he especially loves playing with the equally small Benji 🥰

The gorgeous Juliet trying to goad, the equally gorgeous, Rosebud into playing with her 🥰❤🥰 We're loving the furry face Juliet 😍

What a long way these two have come, although still a little shy of people they do come forward and enjoy some fuss. Juliet, from that very thin donkey who was so weak and spent most of her time lying down, now loves her playtime, usually with Lo**ta, who clearly she wasn't around so Rosebud was the next best choice 😅

Rosebud, was so frightened, and now much more relaxed and gaining confidence daily.

We are open today everyone, please be patient if you come along, it is likely to be busy now we're into holiday season. We are a small site and will do our best to get everyone parked safely, or perhaps you may consider your visit a little later in the day 🤔 Either way, we hope to see you here, the donkeys are waiting 🫏🫏🫏🫏 Take care ######

Two handsome bonded boys enjoying their morning rest time....❤

Ernie and Amos, always together, when they're not enjoying their side by side nap, they love playing all around the paddocks, often chasing each other in and out of the donkeys who are at 'standing rest' 🥰

Now the winter coats are disappearing, we are extremely vigilant with Ernie and his delicate soft skin which becomes more exposed and even more beautiful, eh Ernie ❤❤🫏🫏

Your Mum Ruby showed no clinical signs of pregnancy whatsoever when late at night on this day 14 years ago, Matilda alerted us to what was happening - there you were a tiny little foal who seemed to come from nowhere ❤

You grew and earned your name as Flicka's naughtiest donkey, chasing the team, sitting on laps, stealing brushes, grooming kit, the farriers tools, playing tag with your friends around the tractor, tipping over wheelbarrows, running off with sacks, refusing to come for the dentist (who wouldn't). Yes naughty, but so special, although it has to be said Sammy could well be stealing your crown!!

Fourteen years Jeremy, feels like no time at all when we carried that tiny little foal into a different barn so you and your Mum could be quiet and safe ❤❤❤

Your beautiful Mum Lottie gave birth to you early in the morning on this day in 2017. We never thought we would see you born and thrive, your poor Mum was so sick and thin.

It's 'Blue' in some early morning sunshine this week......❤❤❤

Blue is a very senior boy, probably heading towards his late 30's, every winter we get a little concerned he is looking his age, then when spring comes around and he takes off his winter coat underneath a beautiful sleek summer coat emerges.

He looks stunning and allays all our worries (till next winter 🙈).

Both Rhapsody & Blue are stunning Hungarian boys who originally came from Budapest, rescued by a kind tourist who saw their plight with ill fitting harness and pulling carts around the city all day......

We haven't had our dear little man Milo on here for quite some time.......❤

Some of you may remember in February 2024, following significant breathing issues, Milo underwent some veterinary investigations. We were so sad to learn that Milo had interstitial pulmonary fibrosis, not curable, but manageable. That is what we and Milo, were resolute to do - manage and control this awful diagnosis.

Milo has nebuliser treatment every day, we are so pleased to report that 17 months on he is doing really well, his condition is certainly no worse and his breathing is much better since his initial tests, we want this to continue for a 'very' long time 🙏

Such a lovely soul, he is so friendly and loves his cuddles; Milo arrived at Flicka from Romania 17 years ago, we didn't think he would survive beyond a few days his condition was so poor, but here he is, still enjoying his life and friends ❤🥰❤

Two beautiful souls, Jemima and her Mum Jewel ❤❤

Jewels' is a story we never tire of telling, and hope no-one tires of hearing 😁 Jewel arrived at Flicka from Romania, terrified of people; we couldn't get near her to treat her skin and eyes, so we sat in the corner of her stable and read aloud from a book 📔

It took just three days for Jewel to come forward and put her nose on the pages, the beginning of her trust in us. From that day she has grown into the friendliest and most affectionate girl ever!! After seven months at Flicka Jewel gave birth to Jemima, who is just as soft and affectionate as her Mum, Jemima loves everybody ❤❤❤ and we all love Jemima and Jewel 🥰
