As promised some videos of the animals coming your way ❤️
These are the 7 baby goats we took from a goat dairy a few weeks ago now, These boys were born and Taken from there mothers at a few days old so mums keep producing milk for human consumption, Many of the (doelings) kids go onto be the next nannies to produce milk, while the ( buckling) boy kids if pet homes are not found these will usually be fattened and later processed for meat, We originally took 4 bucklings chalky, sully, rocky and rolo and a few weeks later returned to take the last remaining 3, shadow, bubbles and pickles, our animals spend their days chilling on the yard, in their deep straw filled beds munching hay or can be found most of the time our roaming our 7 acres, they do a great job keeping the boundaries from overgrowing, we have 11 goats here in total and they are all a pleasure to have, We love them immensely they are a huge part of our family and the therapy they give daily, They are like little dogs and follow us everywhere always by our sides ❤️ some of you would of already met our 3 younger ones out on visits, they have the most wonderful quiet, loving nature 😀

Did you know animal therapy and exhibition work requires a council licence?”
It also requires a high level of business public liability insurance 🐾

Many people are surprised to learn that taking animals into care homes, schools and the community as part of a business, where payment is received for visits or services, requires a licence under the Animal Welfare Regulations 2018.

At A million memories pony therapy We are proud to hold a full Animal Exhibition Licence issued by Dorset council
Licence number 16426

In many ways, it is similar to CQC or Ofsted, but for animal welfare. Our premises, procedures, transport arrangements and welfare standards are inspected to ensure we meet strict regulations.

Behind every visit is a huge amount of unseen work — risk assessments, care plans, training, competency checks, emergency procedures, welfare monitoring, insurance, licensing, payroll, vet checks and ongoing inspections.

We always adhere to the 5 Animal Welfare Freedoms, ensuring our animals’ physical and emotional wellbeing is prioritised at all times.

We also have many more animals than the ones you see on visits, as not every animal is suitable for therapy work.

Overall achieving the license is such hard work but regulation is absolutely necessary and fundamental to maintaining high standards of welfare.

I forgot to share our visit from yesterday, Bubbles and pickles made everyone's morning when they walked into Care Dorset bridport connect where we meet some absolutely wonderful staff and residents who loved the baby goats, we seen the biggest smiles, laughter and joy from everyone and it really was so lovely, One gentleman fell inlove with Bubbles and had him fall asleep on his lap with his head on his shoulder, and another gentleman who started off a little bit scared went onto cuddling and really couldn't get enough of them, they all took it in turns to feed them their bottles of milk too, they bought so much comfort to people yesterday Thank you so much for inviting us, we had such a lovely time with you all x

We dont have any pictures due to photograph permission just a little video of them walking in and after our session x

Good morning everyone,
Following our news of closing permanently which we announced yesterday.
I’d just like to explain why I’ve made the difficult decision to close and stop visits.
Since moving here, we have unfortunately had someone repeatedly reporting us. First, we had a visit from Trading Standards regarding concerns that we didn’t have the correct CPH/flock/herd numbers for our animals. Thankfully, everything was fully in place and the officer was happy that we met all required criteria.
We then received a letter that appeared to be from the council, stating we couldn’t run our business from here. However, after the council visited and reviewed the letter, they confirmed it had not come from them and was actually submitted by a member of the public. This was taken away for investigation. We were also advised that due to the minimal change in agricultural use of the land, what we were doing was no different to what many farmers do when keeping or moving animals, so we continued.
Yesterday, we received an email from Dorset Council following an anonymous report claiming I was employing children aged 13–16. This refers to my daughter, Farrah, who is nearly 14 and is homeschooled. Previously in Wiltshire, she helped for two years without issue.
Sadly, we have now been advised that this can no longer happen during school hours. As many of you know, Farrah has loved being involved. She hasn’t been working for pay — she simply helped for a maximum of two hours a week, gaining valuable experience, confidence, communication skills, social interaction, compassion for older generations, and learning about animals and how a business operates.
Someone took it upon themselves to screenshot and share photos of Farrah helping alongside me and send them to the council. I genuinely believed this was a positive thing for her and a great learning experience.
However, after speaking to the relevant people yesterday, I’ve been told I can no longer run visits during school hours. Unfortunately, this means I’m currently unable to continue visits at all.
What upsets me the most is that this has never been about running a business or making money. In fact, we don’t see ourselves as a business at all — we are simply people who genuinely care about supporting our community and offering something we feel deeply passionate about.

This has always come from the heart. We love what we do, and seeing the joy, comfort and connection our animals bring to people has meant everything to us. Any money from visits has only ever gone straight back into the care, feed and wellbeing of our animals — never as an income.

We’ve always tried to do something positive, supportive and meaningful for others, which is why this situation feels particularly upsetting.

So infact this person has now won, so I hope you are happy with the outcome and taken away something that meant so much to the community far and wide. I feel I now need time to regain some sort of strength from this, im sure this wont be the end and this person will indeed try to continue to bring misery to our lives.

But Would just like to thank each and every one of you who has supported us, visited us, shared kind words, and believed in what we do. Your kindness, encouragement and support has meant more than you will ever know.

To everyone who has visited and spent time with our animals, thank you for being part of something that means so much to us over our 2 years . Seeing the happiness, smiles and connections made has made my life so incredibly worthwhile.

We truly hope people understand why this decision has been made, and we are incredibly grateful for all the love and support we’ve received along the way 🩷
We will continue to love and care for all our lovely animals here in our care They we're all here regardless of what we do, A home for life was what they were all promised and A home for life is exactly what they all have ❤️

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the difficult decision to close A Million Memories Pony Therapy.
This has not been an easy decision, and after much thought and consideration, we feel it is the right time to say goodbye. We haven't had a easy run of things recently and sadly someone keeps feeling the need to continually reporting everything back to local authorities time after time and although we haven't got anything to worry about as everyone who has been sent out here has absolutely loved it and what we have done, But I simply cannot find it in me to keep on going they clearly do not want me running so hopefully by closing they will leave me alone 🥹💔
We want to thank every care home, family, supporter, and friend who has been part of our journey. Watching the special connections made between our ponies and the people we have supported has given us memories we will treasure forever.
To everyone who trusted us, supported us, ,or simply cheered us on — thank you. You helped create something truly special, and we are incredibly grateful.
While this chapter is coming to an end, the memories, smiles, confidence, and comfort shared through pony therapy will always stay with us.
Anyone who has booked with us in the coming weeks im so sorry but these visits will now not go ahead, I will send out emails and messages later to you all.
With heartfelt thanks, from kelly and
