Dudley needs further tests and a scan to see what’s going on in his liver.
We are hoping for the best.

🐾50p Friday

Sorry guys - this is a long one! 💔

We are all feeling quite tired this week after 3 losses in the last 3 weeks, cats we had tried to help the same day we heard about them or little Cuckoo who had only been with us a short time.

Not only that, we have been absolutely battered by vet bills.
Oliver, who came in with a wound on his leg just over a month ago, has struggled to get better. His wound may have been caused by a pellet gun or something quite sharp as it’s not healing easily.
He was living in a pile of rubbish (seen in pics) and was at risk of fly strike. Due to the ongoing issues with his wound and repeated antibiotics, we are left with a large bill as seen in pictures.
He has struggled to get used to being with humans but has shown promise with his foster mum with some loves at times but he really needs to recover fully so we can get to know the real Oliver.

Then there’s Isla. Isla was surrendered urgently after her owner had to move quickly and she was such a well loved family pet with it being a hard goodbye.
She started having breathing difficulties 3 days ago caused by some irritation in her throat. Vets think she may have swallowed a wasp as it came on quickly. She had to be hospitalised for 3 days (see her pictures in the vets) and was in and out of an oxygen tent with X-rays showing her chest was clear so no long term issues. This came at a cost of around £1000 and we will get the invoice tomorrow with the bill being due on the same day- funds we just don’t have. She still isn’t completely right but is with a fantastic foster family who are keeping a close eye on her. Isn’t she adorable? 💖

Lastly, Dudley, who is a boy with FELV who we have had in long term foster for nearly 2 years is extremely poorly. He is now in London with a very loving foster family and has been doing so well up until now. When he first came to us, he was very sick with a swollen mouth and unable to eat. He was nursed back to health and given a chance.
Now, nearly 2 years on, he has gone off his food and bloods have shown low white blood cells and issues with his liver. He needs further tests to determine what is going on with £360 already spent. We are hoping it’s nothing serious as he absolutely deserves to keep living his best life.

We only just covered last month’s bill and we hate asking but we have to ask for help because the cats need us.

Every tag, every message or picture seen online of a cat in need leaves us so worried and heartbroken that we don’t have the space and funds to help.
Some people think it’s easy as they are desperately in need and it’s only ‘one more cat.’ One more cat could break us right now and that’s not clever rescuing. That’s careless and inconsiderate to the cats we have here.
We need to get Isla and Oliver’s bills paid and Dudley sorted before we can even consider helping anyone else and that’s a harsh reality that is difficult to sit with. For every no we have to say, the thought of the cats we can’t help right now doesn’t leave our minds.

Just know, we are doing our very best but we are feeling pretty overwhelmed over here.

We will keep fighting and will be doing more car boots, giveaways and sharing the cats we have ready for adoption to try and improve this situation but for now - please keep supporting us if you can.

Thank you so much for everything you all do to help 💖

The infamous Dodger has finally gone to his forever home after being well known for his class act getting food outside the local Aldi. When he turned up with a limp, he was quite a challenge to catch, even with one leg out of action.

The team had support and Dodger was apprehended (for his own good).
After some rest and lots of TLC, he was in full health, taking another 5 months to finally find him a home with his new family 💖 He left with one of our older kittens who had been with us for 9 whole months.

A very happy ending all round and lovely kind words from his new pawrents. 🐾

Things are very hard in rescue at the moment for so many rescuers and moments like this are extra special.

Here he was having a check up at Southwater Veterinary Group before he could leave us.

Heartbreaking update:
Her bloods weren’t too bad but unfortunately when they returned to check on her, she had passed away. They think she was likely poisoned by something she ate.
There are 4 more siblings in the area who need a rescue space, now more than ever. We are struggling for space and Fosterers and we worry every day about the ones we can’t help.

Thank you for donating and her bill is now covered for what we did do and we are devastated that we couldn’t save her.

‼️ Emergency intake 💔

Meet Angelica

We have just agreed to fund treatment for this beautiful cat left behind after a house move.

She was found weak, emaciated and in distress in a garden. She was carried and put into this cage whilst we were contacted and the finder took her to the vet after we spoke to them. The video is heartbreaking to see her struggling and so sad.

The vets have said she’s an extremely sick girl but only very young and without investigation and support, she would need to be put to sleep unless her hospital treatment can be funded by the rescue.

We can’t let that happen, let her die, when she deserves a chance.
She was left behind like rubbish and she doesn’t deserve to die without someone fighting for her.

So we want to try and give Angelica the care she needs and at least provide her the opportunity to fight. That’s why we are here. To help the cats that have been discarded and have no one to help them.

We can’t do this without your support and so we really need help for this precious girl.
She’s currently hospitalised and will move to one of the vets we use tomorrow in Shrewsbury as that’s where she is.

If you can donate to help Angelica, please do because she’s going to need a lot of wishes and support behind her.

Growing up in rescue
💔

Teddy and Rexxy are now 14 weeks old and have basically moved in but as much as they are very well loved in their foster home, they can’t stay.

The most gentle, sweet and cheeky pair.

Mitzi is rather impressed she got the lap and brother Bandit didn’t 😂
