📣 Important Update: Price Changes from 16th August 2025📣

We want to take a moment to thank all of our wonderful clients — your trust and ongoing support mean the world to us. 💙 Every dog we see is treated to the best of our abilities and we’re so proud to be part of your pet’s rehab, wellness, and recovery journey.

In order to continue offering the high level of service you expect from us — including ongoing staff training, investment in specialised equipment, and maintaining our tailored physiotherapy and hydrotherapy services — we will be implementing a small price increase from 16th August 2025, this will affect mixed physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions only.

This decision has not been made lightly. Like many small businesses, we are seeing rising costs across the board from utilities to insurance. We’ve held off making changes for as long as possible, but to keep delivering the quality and time your pets deserve, an adjustment is now necessary.

The new price for mixed physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy sessions will be £50.

🗓 What this means:

All bookings from 16th August onward will reflect the new pricing.
If you have a session that has been booked and paid for schedule for on or after the 16th August these will remain honoured at the current rate until the next session is booked.
We’re always happy to talk through the changes or help work out a plan that keeps your pet’s care consistent and manageable for both your bank balance and your pets well being.

🐕Pole work- simple yet effective🐕

We love using poles for our sporting dogs, it has a whole host of benefits and they find it fun. Here you can see Stoic showing off her skills.

🐾Why pole work ?

Pole work has a whole host of benefits for sporting dogs and as part of a rehabilitation program

🔹 Proprioception & Body Awareness
Pole work encourages dogs to lift their legs, adjust their stride, and think about foot placement. This improves proprioception — essentially, their brain's awareness of where their limbs are. Great for dogs recovering from injury or those with neurological conditions like IVDD or DM. It also helps improve performance in many sporting areas.

🔹 Muscle Activation & Joint Health
Moving over poles increases joint flexion, especially in the hips, stifles, hocks, and carpi. It encourages even weight-bearing and activates key stabilising muscles — ideal for post-operative recovery, long-term mobility support, and athletic conditioning.

🔹 Balance & Coordination
Slow, deliberate stepping builds core strength and control — helping dogs with weak hind limbs, poor coordination, or age-related instability as well as those conditioning for sport.

🔹 Mental Enrichment
Pole work is more than physical. It’s a problem-solving task, plus we find our dogs really enjoy it!

🔬 The research backs it up:
Studies using gait analysis and kinematic data (Pfau et al., 2011; Leach et al., 2010) show that dogs walking or trotting over poles demonstrate increased limb flexion and stride control. It’s a simple tool with powerful outcomes.

✨ Whether your dog is recovering from injury, managing arthritis, or just needs a boost in strength and coordination — pole work could be part of their plan.

🐾One of the benefits of using a kennels.

Do you know? That all boarding kennels need a written ‘Extreme Weather Policy’ to be compliant with licensing regulations.
This is reviewed and agreed with our Licensing Officer.
So rest assured during this hot spell we have your dogs needs catered for. We have fans, shade, paddling pools, fresh water top ups, sun cream for those pink noses, cooler pads, portable air conditioning units, checking the ground isn’t too hot for them, as well as the indoor swimming pool. A whole check list to keep you and your pet happy.
