Massive thanks to so many of you that have rescheduled over the last couple of days. You’re all my heroes 🦸 💪🏻

The field may look fully booked. But it’s not. I’ve blocked all the reschedules off, so nobody else can book.

It’s about the dogs welfare. Not the money.

Tomorrow should start to get cooler which I’m sure all the dogs will be happy about. And us hoomans 🥵

I’ve blocked them off, so nobody else can book them. And will continue to do so until the weather cools down again.

We’re in another heatwave and it’s going to be very hot for the next couple of days. The field is fully booked 🥵

Please consider rescheduling your appointment. You can do this yourself up to 12 hours before your appointment from the bottom of your confirmation email.

There’s also a paddling pool at the field. But you’ll need to bring your own water as it’s not feasible to try and put water in from the water container at the field.

Please please keep your dogs cool. Dogs in the UK can die in this heat.

As Monday is going be VERY hot (26 degrees) I’ve blocked off midday to 2pm so it can’t be booked. I’ll be cutting the grass at the field instead. Presumably in a bikini 👙 🤣

I usually cut it myself weekly - before or after hours. But it’s going to be too hot for dogs Monday.

Keep your fur babies safe and cool please folks.

To the mystery guests leaving banana peels 🍌 and sweet wrappers 🍬 on the dog field: I’m all for creative recycling, but I’m the one who ends up doing the ‘clean up after the snackers’ routine 🧹. It’s been going on for quite a while now 😢

The bins are there for a reason. Let’s use them please. It’ll keep the field nice for the everyone and spare me from becoming a rubbish detective every night. Let’s all pitch in and keep it clean and tidy for each other.

EDIT* Road works now completed and open as usual*

🚧 Road closure notice

Just a heads-up for anyone heading to the dog field via Longmeanygate from the Leyland direction. The road will be closed at Paul's Farm direction for 3 days starting tomorrow.

You won’t be able to access Midge Hall Lane from that side, but Dr Oetker end is unaffected. So please plan your route accordingly.

And please take great care of your dogs in this weather. Don’t over exercise them, keep them cool and make sure they have access to fresh cool water.

The dreaded potholes are back on the track because of the rain and traffic 🌧️ folks. Please drive carefully. We’ll fill them in as soon as it dries out – a heatwave’s coming, so it won’t be long.☀️

Just a little update from me about meet ups at the field:

I won’t be arranging or hosting any meet-ups this year like I did last summer. Why?

Well as the Council has granted the new 10 dog limit per appointment (up from 6 last year), and 3 vehicles (up from 2 last year) you’re now able to arrange your own group sessions with friends and fellow dog owners 😁🐾

If you’re part of a breed/type group and think there’s enough interest for a dedicated session, feel free to pop me a message. I’m happy to arrange something if the numbers are there.

With the current heatwave please keep your doggos safe.

1. Always have fresh water available.
2. Avoid midday walks. Go early or late when it’s cooler.
3. Pavements can burn. Stick to grass.
4. Use cooling vests and mats or a damp towel.
5. Never leave dogs in hot cars.
6. Know the signs of heatstroke: panting, drooling or restlessness.

Let’s keep our family cool and safe this summer. 🐕💦
