Due to demand, we're running an additional puppy course in August at ! 🎉

Starting Wednesday 13th August 6-7pm, running for 6 weeks, for puppies up to 6 months old.

My baby boy Sparrow passed his The Kennel Club UK Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze Award at Leeds Championship Dog Show last week! He was such a good puppy in the busy environment.🥉Along with getting VHC in Minor Puppy. And Swift placed 2nd in Postgraduate, qualifying again for Crufts 2026. 💙

This workshop is specifically for disabled dog owners, those with chronic physical illnesses and mobility difficulties, with training specific to heelwork sports including Rally, Obedience and Heelwork to Music. 🎉BIG NEWS 🎉

After the success of our first ParaCanine Dog Sports Camp this month, we are going BIG for 2026 at Ogilvie Dogs! ♿

5 sports. 4 groups. 3 days of training. 2 para trainers with Crufts and International wins to their names. 1 amazing venue.

🐕‍🦺 Space avaliable in our Assistance Dog Groups at Dunn Dogs Derby! ♿

Mondays 2:45pm (recommended for more experienced ADiTs/ADS) and Wednesdays 4pm (recommend for assistance dog prospects and ADiTS).

🛒 These group classes are specifically for assistance dogs and assistance dogs in training, with sessions tailored to the specific standards and skills assistance dogs must achieve.

🥇 Classes include life skills and obedience training, award schemes including the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme and APDT Good Companion Awards, training field trips to pet friendly public access and outdoor environments, sports tasters, and opportunities to meet and socialise with other assistance dog handlers.

🦮 Groups are limited to 6 dogs, and is open to assistance dogs training with Briar, and ADs/ADITS training with other reward-based trainers and organisations, regardless of what disability or disabilities they are being trained for. Both ADs and ADITS are welcome (puppies should first complete Puppy Life Skills and Awesome Adolescents courses).

This group class does NOT replace 1:1 assistance dog training with an experienced trainer or an organisation, and is designed to complement 1:1 assistance dog training.

It's important that assistance dogs aren't just able to ignore pet dogs they might see when working, but also work alongside other assistance dogs when needed in public access environments. Having my own assistance dog means my trainees get lots of practice of this during assistance dog training sessions! 🦮🐕‍🦺

Kings of the nature reserve for stays overlooking the kingdom! 🫅 Another field trip this week for one of our Life Skills and Obedience classes to generalise training in a different environment. Lots of distractions including tonnes of rabbits, but the dogs did fab! 🐇

Booking for our August Life Skills and Obedience classes is open now in Nottingham and Derby! From beginners to advanced, there are classes for all levels, at The Canine Academy, Tollerton and Dunn Dogs Derby, 6 days a week.
