Happy Friday all. We made it to the weekend of the first working week of January 👏😮💨
Another reason to celebrate, Millie survived a tumour that had formed on her foot 👇
Back in November 2024 for Millie’s groom that month, I noticed a bald, hard, red lump had formed on her foot. Knowing this was not there on her last groom and how quickly this lump had grown, I advised Millies owner straightaway and urged a vet appointment as soon as possible.
As ever, professional grooming appointments aren’t always just giddy bubble baths and silly wet kisses with some fur styling here and there. They can also turn into something quite serious and concerning. We assess your pet and their whole body, every appointment.
Getting to know your pets skin and body, their ailments and illnesses, adjusting to work around them, pointing out things when we should.
Every time we see your pet we are able to see straight away what wasn’t there before, things that may go missed at home and we refer for vet attention.
Millie’s family took her to the vets immediately and the lump was diagnosed as a tumour.
A benign tumour 😮💨
Which could be removed and was removed as soon as possible. Millie was an absolute superstar and soldiered through this episode like the strong little lady that she is ❤️🩹
This all happened over Christmas so we had to wait until new year for her wound to heal for a well needed haircut.
Just a moment to point out this is exactly why it is so important to have your dogs regularly groomed, and if possible by the same groomer. As we get to know your dogs, what’s normal for them and what isn’t.
As this lump was hidden by Millie’s fur, no one had spotted it until I saw her for her groom.
Millie didn’t need any extra support or anything adapted for her groom, everything went on as normal. Dogs are Herculean like that, their recovery and resilience are something we can all learn from. I told Millie how brave she has been and kissed her foot better 🥰❤️🩹
Dogs are amazing and I am so privileged to work with them ♥️
