Parts of the UK are experiencing another mini heatwave and sadly there's already been guinea losses due to heatstroke. Guineas don't cope well with heat, they are unable to sweat and are potentially at risk of heat stroke.
If your guineas live outdoors make sure your hutch is not in direct sun. Hutches in sunlight for even a small amount of time can reach very high temperatures inside.
If you find your guinea with any symptoms of heat stroke - lethargy, drooling, twitching, unable to stand up they need to be taken to a vet straight away as an emergency.
