Morning!
We are loving the warm weather 🌞 but it has caused a few delivery issues this week.

Our cold, tropical and pond fish delivery can’t be safely sent overnight in these temperatures, and our frozen fish delivery would have a very high risk of arriving completely defrosted.

For the welfare of the live fish and to make sure your frozen food arrives frozen, we’ve decided it’s best to wait and try again next week.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding!

NOW REHOMED

We have a pair of Red Spotted Severums looking for their new home.
These can reach upto 30cm in size and although they are a peaceful cichlid, careful consideration of tank mates is must.

They are currently both over 6 inches in size

These will need a matured tropical aquarium thats at least 280l in size

This royal python is now with us.

At approximately 9pm on Thursday 6 August, we received a report from a member of the public who believed they had seen a large python type snake in the area of Leighton Beck Road, Slack Head.

We would like to make members of the public aware so they can exercise appropriate caution if they are walking in the area.

If you're enjoying the local woods or surrounding countryside:
🐕 Keep dogs under close control.
👀 Stay alert and be aware of your surroundings.
🚫 Please do not approach or attempt to handle the animal if you believe you have seen it.
📞 If you do see what you believe to be the snake, please report it to us on 101. If there is an immediate risk to life or someone is in immediate danger, call 999.

The snake poses no risk to the public. If you see it, please keep it in sight and contact us. We will arrange for the appropriate person to attend and recover it.

Please share this post with friends, family and anyone who lives in or visits the Slack Head area to help spread awareness.

We've had no owner come forward at the moment. Please ask anyone you know who keeps snakes in Barrow if they have lost a snake, even if its not recent. Thank you 🙂

🐶 GRAB A RAW DOG FOOD BARGAIN! 🐶

Unfortunately one of our freezer doors was left open over night resulting in our Nutriment chubbs defrosting 😭

They are still cold and part frozen so are safe to be used, but must be fed within 48 hours.

We have got them on HALF PRICE so grab yourself a bargain!

We first received reports of this snake over a month ago, but every time we went out to the location, it had disappeared 😔

Yesterday, we received another call to say it had been spotted in a different drain within the rugby grounds🏈 Thankfully, the caller was able to send us some photos 📷 and we quickly identified it as a corn snake.🐍

Although Rose was off yesterday, she's an absolute star 🌟 and kindly went out to the location anyway. Thankfully this time it was still there and she managed to safely catch the snake! 💪

If you're missing a corn snake, please get in touch with us. It may have only been out for a short time, or it could have been wandering for much longer. It may also have travelled some distance from where it originally escaped, so even if you don't live near the rugby grounds, it could still be yours 🤞

Please, if you're fishing behind the shop, take your rubbish home with you or bring it into the shop and I'll happily dispose of it for you.

Just don't leave it behind.

This is only a really small area that I've cleared this morning, and it's disappointing to see so much litter and discarded fishing line left in such a beautiful spot.

If I see anyone littering, I will refuse to sell them fishing bait or equipment.
We have cctv that covers the back of the shop and canal

Parents please remind your kids about responsible fishing

Fishing is a hobby that allows us to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Let's all do our part to protect it, not destroy it.
