It’s going to be so warm for the next week, please keep your dogs as cool as possible. We have plenty of cool bandanas, vests, toys, mats, lactose free ice creams and frozen yogurts to help.

Please DO NOT walk your dogs in the heat of the day, dogs can die of heat stroke and it comes on really quickly, some dogs don’t know when to switch off so we need to do it for them. Spent a little extra time playing “find it” with their kibble or treats in shade in the garden, freeze a lickimat or Kong with some dog friendly peanut butter and mashed banana or a nice chew and don’t walk them, a dog never died from not being walked but many die every year from heat stroke, don’t let it be yours this summer.

Can’t recommend this course enough, I did it with Freddie my old cocker and it was so rewarding.
Unfortunately I can’t do this one with Finn as Wednesday isn’t a good day for me being busy at the shop, but I’m having a 1-2-1 with Jo to remind me of the steps to making Finn the most fab scent detection dog!

Zoe from Ashdown Veterinary Physiotherapy came out to check Finn over today as he has had a limp for a few days and I knew if I took him to the vet he would just have pain killers and anti inflammatories which I don’t really want cos he would just be crazy cos he can’t feel any discomfort. I had manipulated his shoulder, wrist and checked all his pads and claws and no kick back or hotness so wanted to go down a more natural route.
She was so thorough and gentle with him, couldn’t find anything obvious, his gait is slightly out and he sits quite lazy so we have some exercise to do like doggie Pilates to do with him. Highly recommend Zoe if anyone has any mobility issues with their dog.

DO NOT LET YOUR DOGS SWIM IN THE POND.
There is a small sign up but only one side.
