Hi, I’m Sian Lucas, owner of Millie Moo Dog Grooming 🐾
I have always loved dogs and been completely fascinated by them. In fact, I used to pretend I was a dog right up until the age of 11, so I think it was pretty inevitable that my life would revolve around them one day!
Dogs are such incredible, pure animals, and I feel so lucky to have worked with them for over 11 years now.
I started my career training dogs and completed qualifications with the IMDT, so I have always come from a positive reinforcement background. From there, I opened my own dog walking and daycare business, which gave me so much hands on experience with different breeds, personalities and temperaments.
I’ve always groomed my own dog, Millie, and through grooming her I realised that grooming doesn’t come naturally to many dogs. By combining training with grooming, I helped her become comfortable and confident with the process.
That’s what led me into dog grooming, not to create the “perfect haircut”, but to help dogs feel safe and happy during the grooming experience. I love taking the time to get to know each dog as an individual, understanding their likes, dislikes and what makes them feel comfortable.
As long as a dog leaves my salon clean, comfortable and happy, then I know I’ve done my job right.
Combining training with grooming, and watching dogs grow in confidence while building trust and relationships with them, inspires me to keep learning and improving every single day.
I named my business Millie Moo Dog Grooming after the dog who inspired me to live with more love, patience, understanding, kindness and compassion.
Every time a dog walks through my doors, I always ask myself:
“What would I want for Millie?”
And that’s exactly how I treat every dog in my care ❤️
