🌭🌭Dachshund Day🌭🌭

Our Crowborough hospital was lucky enough to have 3 very cute Dachshunds in a few weeks ago. Lexi, Sacha and Molly could have formed the world's smallest cutest conga line!

🥹10/10 would happily host them again!🥺

🐾 ⭐️ All creatures great and small ⭐️🐾

Today’s special visitor may be our smallest yet!
Meet Silver the Russian hamster, he saw one of our Nurses at Crowborough for a nail trim 🐹✂️ (those tiny toes need love too!)
He weighs the same as a snickers chocolate bar 🍫
We know that every Pet we see, no matter how small, is a big part of someone’s family. 💕

🚨 KENNEL COUGH ALERT — CROWBOROUGH 🚨please share!

We’re currently seeing a large rise in kennel cough cases locally. Kennel cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection that spreads quickly anywhere dogs mix — parks, kennels, daycare and training classes.

If your dog shows symptoms, please do not bring them into the waiting room. Call us first and we’ll arrange a suitable appointment to prevent spreading it to other dogs.

Vaccination is available and can help reduce severity and transmission, especially for dogs who socialise regularly.

📞 Call us for advice or to book online.
When should you worry???
•If the cough lasts more than 3 weeks
•Your dog is lethargic, not eating or drinking.
•your dog has difficulty breathing or snotty discharge from the nose.
•your pet has pre-existing issues such as heart/lung issues.
*Lungworm may present with just a cough also*

🎆 “Remember, remember the 5th of November… even if not all pets can tolerate earmuffs like Ernie this stylish lurcher.” 🎆

Fireworks can be frightening for many animals, so here are a few simple ways to help keep them calm and cosy tonight:

🐾 Dogs & Cats
🎇 Keep them indoors and close curtains/windows
🎇 Create a snug den with familiar bedding
🎇 Play TV or calming music to help mask bangs
🎇 Stay calm and act normally—your reassurance helps

🐰 Rabbits & Small Furries
🎇 Move hutches into a shed or garage if possible
🎇 Partially cover with blankets (leave ventilation)
🎇 Add extra bedding so they can burrow and feel secure

If your pet struggles with loud noises, we can help with advice, calming products or medication. 💙

Wishing everyone a safe and settled Fireworks Night from all of us at Culverden Vets. ✨

Just a reminder we will be holding an open evening tomorrow at Wadhurst from 5pm. If you would like to attend please register your interest.

Tiny Pistachio was such a brave boy for his microchip on Friday 💚🐾
With plenty of cuddles (and a licky mat for distraction), he barely noticed a thing. What a little superstar! ⭐️
