After receiving several messages from some lovely people, that thought Albi and I were going to Somerford PL and were hoping to meet him in person. I thought it best to give a quick update, as I know some were hoping to see him at Vale View & Hartpury...
We were entered for Somerford, however, I had to withdraw, due to an unfortunate mishap whilst getting on one of the younger horses.
This has resulted in a very frustrating, not to mention painful injury, that is going to see me sidelined for the rest of the season, gutted is an understatement😭.
Having made the decision to focus mainly on competitions, this year with Albi, we were planning to do our first Int2 & GP in June.
To say I am devastated, doesn't even come close😪

🖤 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗪𝗛𝗢'𝗦 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞! 🖤 And How! 👊🏻 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲🥇 with over 𝟳𝟱% for Emmelie and our Stallion 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼 (by Vivaldi x Havidoff) in Nederweert. 🏆🇳🇱 He made Today his return to the Grand Prix after more than a year! 🥹😍

"Desperado is now 16 years old. He really enjoyed to competing again, he is fit and happy. The best thing was to see that he enjoyed it so much. I was really happy with the test today and the judges liked it too! 😬🫶🏻 Our 'next stop' is Indoor Brabant for his return in the International CDI3* Grand Prix!" 🥰💪🏻

Super chuffed with the boys 💕🖤.
Albi has had a busy time, Hartpury last week, a solid PSG for 67.26% 12th in a big strong class.
Then the Regionals for both boys this weekend.
Albi up first in the PSG Gold, another solid test for 67.97% 6th, it was such a hot class.
Then Vinnie in the Prelim Gold, it was always going to be a big ask of him, he has only done a handful of comps indoors, at the same venue, so going outdoors at such a busy event was huge for him. He coped brilliantly, just a little green, calling during his test, so not the best score this time. Super comments on his potential, he is going to be very exciting, love him.

We also managed to fit in several collections, meaning all the boys obligations were met too, so happy mare owners.

bought from Kevin Sparrow, went for prints this time, so got to wait for them to arrive I the post.

Super chuffed with Albi, a lovely few days away ValeView Equestrian Premier League, such an enjoyable show and fabulous venue.
Really starting to get a bit of what we achieve in the warm up, in the actual test now. 6th in the Inter 1 with 66.42% on the 2nd day. I messed up the first Inter 1 by doing the Med trot from the wrong marker, a very costly 6% deduction, otherwise we'd have been 5th.
66.96% & 67.16% in the PSG's, with a couple of mistakes. There is so much more to come from him too.
Some really lovely comments from the judges,
" Little horse, with a BIG Engine".
"Much Quality"
"Expressive horse".
"Loved his energy and enthusiasm"
"Very talented horse"
" So much to like, very capable horse"
"Boldly ridden, expressive test"
To receive such comments as this level is amazing for me, I was so proud of him.
Not only is he talented, he is the sweetest, kindest horse ever and was was a joy to take, as always.

OMG....a Vinnie baby🖤💕💕
So Very Vivid's (Gribaldi/Negro) first foal x Tia Rubina (Rhodiamant/Rubenstein)
Totally smitten with this young man.
He caught me a bit by surprise, having decided that Rosi would probably go another couple of days, I turned her out and set off to work!
Huge thank you to Pyke and Sue Pyke for alerting me I had a "Newborn" and holding the Fort till I could get back to the yard.
I arrived to this gorgeous boy up, suckled and having a rest!

Vinnie's turn today.🖤💕🦄
Trip to Foxes Competition Centre.
Really pleased with his tests, especially as a new girlfriend has moved into next doors field and spends all day calling and inviting him over😘😘.😕
So high on testosterone, this made the warm up a little more exciting than normal. But fair play, for a young Stallion to then settle and produce 2 qualifying scores, I couldn't be happier with him, he's a special boy and so talented.

Super couple of days Somerford Park Premier Dressage League with Albi. Int 1 first, too many mistakes unfortunately, just a bit tense.
He then settled and felt fabulous for the PSG in the afternoon, with over 69% from one judge, we were on for a good score....until 6% was deducted for saluting with my whip in my hand FGS 🙈, sorry Albi.

Day 2, Int 1, little cheeky in the first halt for 2's from all judges, but then lots 7.5's and 8's,😊 until the 2 tempi's, when he did all 7, then threw in some 1's for added cheek, hoping some fine fillies were watching 😆.

Finally the PSG, having had a word with himself, he felt awesome, some really good marks and lovely comments from all judges, to finish 11th with over 67%, , in a big field of top riders.
He really showed just how much more is to come from him during this show.

Somerford is such a lovely venue, I feel so privileged to be competing here with my best boy, in such company, he's truly awesome🖤🦄💕
