Burnford golden boy

Barney is a 13.1 registered new forest chestnut gelding. He is 13years old and good to do in all ways farrier (barefoot) catch, clip, Bath, load.

He hacks alone or in company. excellent out in open fields, traffic/ bikes etc Seen tractors. Not spooky (can speed up on the way home nothing silly and nothing a half halt won’t sort)
Rides in a snaffle.

He has had novice to confident children riding him but would suit a more confident child as does needs a slight reassurance and isn’t too keen on when the rider gets unbalanced. Although I have led my 4 year old son on him and he was excellent.

He lives out 24/7 through summer, he’s a good doer and doesn’t need much if any hard feed.
He has been stabled overnight during the winter and is out in a mixed herd, which he prefers the company but isn’t silly when one comes in.

Barney is a genuinely good all rounder and ready for a confident jockey to have some fun on and get to know him over the summer. He enjoys his jumping although hasn’t seen many fillers etc recently so will need some more experience. Has been cross country schooling in previous home and showed to be bold and brave. Again will need to see more to gain his experience.

All up to date with teeth, wormers, physio, feet.

He will be sold with his bridle and fly sheet.

It has been a rather manic few weeks so I’m late to the party but I hope you all had a good Christmas and new years.
Over Christmas we had the lovely Lui and Finn back for holiday livery they settle right in as soon as they arrive and enjoy having them back 🥰

We also had an update on the gorgeous Colin who we sold back in 2020 who had a good year last year despite a few injuries and time off work. Keeping everything crossed they have a well deserved year with lots of fun 🥰

We have been on this feed for 4 years now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else !! Works out a lot cheaper than buying individual feed bags chaff/nuts/balancer plus any supplements. The horses look great on it and maintain their weight all year round. Chestnut Horse Feeds

Sadly this post deserves her own. I previously sold Daphne as a 5 year old. Such a gorgeous mare and moved beautifully!! I have loved seeing Daphne’s updates and how she was getting on with her teenage owner in Norwich.
Sadly she was PTS yesterday aged 15 due to a field accident.
I can’t thank her owners enough for looking after her and updating me along her journey in life. Thinking of you all.

It’s been a while again since we’ve last posted. It’s been a busy few weeks with various holiday cover and the last 2 weeks we had the gorgeous Finn and Lui here on holiday livery, with Lui being ticked over schooling and hacking. We have loved having them to stay.

If your looking for holiday livery whether it be just a break or to keep them ticking over we can accommodate most ponies/horses.

Josh 2 week post op update….
Stitches are now out and he can finally go out all day to say he’s happy is an understatement !! Once it has fully healed on the inside hopefully another 4/6 weeks he can go back in with Lillie (I don’t trust them to have a well needed play together and cause mischief)

Swelling is still going down and can see improvements every day he’s still cautious especially when it’s dark but in the whole he’s done amazingly to adjust so quickly 🥰

Still strange watching him ‘blinking’ but no eye.

ABOUT US

We run a calm and quiet yard consisting of 4 stables all with rubber mats and automatic drinkers. All year round turnout either in pairs or individual turnout. 20x40 menage with use of the jumps. Miles of hacking.

We offer either 7 days full livery which includes feeds turnout out muck out and bring in, skipping out, feet hosed and picked daily, daily groom, rugs changed accordingly, tack cleaned once per week, ad-lib hay and 2 shavings per week.

5 days full livery as above but owners to do weekends (we are happy to help over the weekends as and when needed) groomed 3 times per week.

Schooling livery based on a minimum of 1 weeks stay.
