‼️DENTAL MYTHS - DEBUNKED ‼️

Many pet owners believe that oral disease is inevitable as their pets age, but this isn't necessarily true! While it's more common for dental issues to arise as pets grow older, regular check-ups and proactive care can significantly reduce the risk and prevent deterioration of oral health! 🦷 With proper dental hygiene, such as regular brushing 🪥, dental treats, and professional cleanings 👨🏻‍⚕️, many pets can maintain healthy teeth and gums well into their senior years. Routine vet visits help catch early signs of dental disease before they become serious, ensuring your pet stays comfortable and their smile stays bright for as long as possible!

‼️DENTAL MYTHS - DEBUNKED ‼️

Many pet owners believe that feeding bones or hard chews helps keep their pet's teeth clean, but this can actually do more harm than good 😱 While it may seem like a natural way to help with dental health, bones and hard chews can break or crack your pet's teeth, leading to painful injuries and potential infections. Additionally, chewing on these hard objects can cause wear on their teeth, making them more prone to other dental issues over time. Instead, opt for vet-approved dental chews, toys, and treats designed to promote oral health without the risk of tooth damage 🦷

‼️DENTAL MYTHS - DEBUNKED ‼️

A common myth is that if your pet is still eating 🍽️, their teeth must be fine. However, this is not always the case. Pets are excellent at hiding pain, and they may continue eating despite having dental issues, such as broken teeth, gum disease, or infection. In fact, by the time a pet shows visible signs of discomfort, their dental health may already be significantly affected ❤️‍🩹. Many pets will adapt by chewing differently or eating softer food to avoid pain, so it’s important to look out for subtle signs like drooling, pawing at the mouth, or bad breath. Regular veterinary checkups and dental exams are essential to catch problems early and prevent more serious issues down the road 🪥

‼️DENTAL MYTHS - DEBUNKED ‼️

While it's common to hear that 'doggy breath 🤢' is normal, this is actually a myth that can be harmful to your dog's (and cat's!) health. Persistent bad breath often indicates underlying dental issues, such as plaque buildup, gum disease, or even tooth decay. Dogs' and cats' mouths, just like ours, require regular care to prevent the buildup of bacteria and tartar, which can lead to serious conditions like periodontal disease. If your dog or cat has foul-smelling breath, it's important to schedule a vet visit for a dental checkup. Regular brushing, dental chews, and professional cleanings can help maintain their oral health, keeping both their breath and overall well-being in check!
