Wow — thank you from Blue Cross Thirsk! 🐾💙

We’ve been overwhelmed by your generosity and support. Because of this, we are now overflowing with blankets, knitted cat blankets, and dog beds and unfortunately can’t accept any more right now.

If you’d still like to help, we’d really appreciate it if you could take a look at our Amazon Wish List for other items we need 🐶🐱

🩵We’re reaching out from Blue Cross Thirsk to ask for support in caring for the small animals in our rescue, including hamsters, mice, and chinchillas. 🐹🐭

Despite their size, they need specialist care such as quality food, safe bedding, and enrichment to keep them happy while they wait for their forever homes. These costs quickly add up, and we rely on the generosity of our community. 🐀🐇

Any donation, big or small, would make a real difference. We have included the link to our Amazon Wishlist with the items we need. If you can’t donate, sharing this post would help us greatly.

💙🐾PET OF THE WEEK 🐾💙

Roxy and Bello are a gentle, sweet pair of 3 year 1 month old Domestic Shorthairs looking for a calm, patient home where they can build trust and feel safe. Both are a little shy at first, but with time their lovely personalities shine through.

Roxy is the more confident one and is starting to show her curious side. She enjoys gentle fuss and will happily relax for quiet cuddles once settled. Bello is more reserved and prefers to take things at his own pace, needing patience and understanding as he gains confidence.

They’d suit a peaceful home with older children and would like to be the only pets. Together, they’ll thrive in a loving, quiet environment. 🐾🏡

🩵 With a little love and patience, these two will reward you with a lifetime of quiet companionship and trust.

🌟🐴Calling Yorkshire horse community🐴🌟
We are looking to recruit Horse Foster Yards in Yorkshire (ideally within one hour of Richmond or Huddersfield). This will help us achieve our goal of helping more horses in the area, reducing their travel time and therefore improving their welfare.

This is a volunteer opportunity where you will temporarily care for Blue Cross horses at your own property/yard whilst they wait for their new home. Blue Cross will cover the costs of all vets, farrier and worming costs, as well as additional feed and bedding where this is required.

Our ideal Foster yard will need to have a good working knowledge and experience of horse care, health, behaviour and have great communication skills.

Please share, or if you think this is the role for you, please apply via the link below ⬇

Not quite ready to apply or want to learn more of what’s involved? Email [email protected] for an informal phone call!

Lulu is the kind of cat who makes life feel warmer.

She’ll trot over with a soft meow, look up at you with those bright eyes, and suddenly your day feels lighter.

She’s 7 years and 3 months, full of playful energy, and absolutely adores human company. Once she’s settled, she becomes a little social butterfly — affectionate, cuddly, and wonderfully chatty.

Lulu prefers life without other cats inside the home, but she has more than enough love to fill a home all by herself. With patience and a calm approach, she’ll reward you with companionship that feels truly special.

If Lulu sounds like your perfect match, we’d love to hear from you.

We are pleased to announce that Solly has now left the centre here at Thirsk and is finally enjoying the next chapter of his life in his new home!

💛 100 days....

That’s how long Solly has been waiting… watching the door… hoping the next person who drops by the centre might finally be his person.

Every morning, this gentle ginger‑and‑white boy blinks up at us with that soft, hopeful face — the face of a cat who still believes good things are coming.

He’s 7 years and 10 months old, calm, affectionate, and quietly wonderful. The kind of cat who doesn’t shout for attention… but deserves it more than most.

Solly has seen so many others leave for their new lives. He’s been patient. Now he just needs someone to choose him.

If you feel a little tug reading this, maybe it’s him. Maybe Solly is your cat.
